This is how the media frames it when the person of interest is on the right, so why not call it that way now?

I think the beard is going to make “trans” a tough sell.

dont worry, some trans dude probably already shot up a school, and the media has already ignored it or called it a MAGA attack, just in case...

but yeah we were never going to see any arrests and convictions. we are talking about the GOP here...
--Don't forget the 274,000 and counting Federal employees who are no longer.
--Does ANYONE think that the shitshow that is Minnesota would be going on if Kamala was president? Full steam ahead!!!
--No more USAID and the NGO rinse/repeat of our tax dollars
--formal escape from WHO
--the crazy capture of narco-terrorist Nicholas Madura, which also prevents a foothold in Venezuela for China and Russia (and ISIS and Hamas)
--millions and millions of barrels of Venezuelan oil, and the destabilization of Cuba who will no longer receive this subsidized oil.
--Iran on the edge of freedom, wiping out the largest state-sponsor of terrorism
--Middle East as stable as it's been in years
--Trillions in investments and infrastructure moving INTO America
--Major health initiatives announced, "Most Favored Nation" status for AMERICANS for prescription drugs forces Big Pharma to discount drugs to Americans. Onshoring of drug manufacturing happening, rather than relying on China for everything
--$1.99 or less gas in several states, leading to prices dropping everywhere. Record oil/LNG production
--Still can't believe the murder rate is down 20% YOY. Most ever, and perhaps the lowest rate per capita since statistics were kept.
--record deregulation. For every new regulation we're currently at 129 dropped or duplicated regulations.
--No chicks with dicks in women's sports. No DEI bullshit. All the purple-haired trans-boys kicked out of the military, and advancement once again based on merit, not sex.
--no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, Big Beautiful Bill to give major taxes back this year. Of course the blue states quickly made sure that the poors weren't able to get this tax advantage. Keep voting liberal, poors.

You'd think that the destabilization of Cuba alone would warm the cockles of Joe's heart, given everything that happened to his family. Kinda shocked at that one. I've seen tons of liberal Venezuelans giving props to Trump, even though they don't agree with his politics.

As I've gotten older, I've found myself caring less about feel-good issues and more about things which directly affect my everyday life.

The majority of the things I spend money on regularly are more expensive today than they were a year ago. Energy, food, insurance, etc.

Meanwhile, the President just signed an executive order to enact rules which will artificially depress the value of the most valuable asset I own, my house, by placing constraints on an entire category of potential buyers to whom I might elect to one day sell it.

Any added expense I'm feeling now is at the hands of the Democrats. Can't believe that our major oil refineries are shutting down in California while our gas prices are at $4.60 for regular. We could see $6-$7-$8 gas this summer because of Gavin Newsom, not Trump.

They may seem like "feel good" issues to you, but what the Venezuela action really is is taking away landing spaces for terrorists and communists and socialists. But I repeat myself.

If you don't like feel-good issues, you probably won't like how Trump is starting to point kids away from Social Security and towards controlling their own retirement money, rather than the current SS Ponzi scheme.

Remember, all this in just one year. With Biden all we got was the autopen and MSM claims of hookers pissing on beds, insurrection grandmas, rampant government-sponsored theft, and then importation of blue voters who ended up getting more money, homes and food than actual Americans.

Who exactly is taking our money? And where is it going?

We could see Social Security become irrelevant in 20 years, and could watch economic literacy grow in kids who get little of it from school.

You are correct.

Intentionally voting against one's own self-interest is the sort of behavior which we have historically tended to view as something which leftists do.

If young people stop paying Social Security taxes, that means that the system will be unable to provide any meaningful benefit to people like you and I, who have been paying into it our whole lives, when we retire.

"I'm willing to sacrifice the security and comfort of my own family for that of complete strangers" is not something which I would have expected you to be promoting.

And how would these young people be able to stop paying?

I'm not totally clear on that myself.

One of the big talking points this week has been the "Trump Account," which is a stock market index IRA established for the children of US citizens as part of last years "Big Beautiful Bill" omnibus. As part of it, the Fed will kick-start each account by giving a free $1,000 initial investment to every newborn. Here is the White House's promo page for it: https://www.trumpaccounts.gov/

Cordy is suggesting that this is the first step in a plan to "... point kids away from Social Security"

I am as curious as you are as to whether that is a realistic expectation, and how it might actually be implemented.

At the moment, I view it alongside things like abolishing the Federal income tax. Sounds great on paper, but unlikely to ever actually take place.

Inflation is caused by printing money, not by economic growth. Milton Friedman. End the FED.

It's called "Enlightened self-interest", and it's the core of capitalism. It works really really well. Trump hasn't said anything about ending Social Security because the liberal ***** in Congress and on the streets would be wailing and gnashing their teeth. I said it.

I predict a time when they'll be asking for SS to be ended, and at that time we'll have a transition plan in place...not just "good luck, olds." as your post insinuates.

Last--just thought of this--people have wanted a "means test" for Social Security" for quite a while in that if you're rich, you don't get your Social Security benefits. You could also have the converse where if you have money saved up for retirement, as you get older you don't have to pay as much to SS. You can actually have both with a means test. Top of my head don't shoot the messenger idea.

Seems kinda clear by now that Democrats are funded either by fraud, or by NGO's that cycle taxpayer money back to them. Yep, that's a good party to get behind.
