I believe his post was spot on. Trump has been more accurate about predicting the future than most folks. For example, he did the right thing by dishing out ventilators as they were needed rather than sending a sh!tton just to New York. He had extra hospital capacity built or deployed, just in case he was wrong, but he is now moving capability where it's needed most. We've got trillions of gloves, masks, gowns, booties, and face shields now. We have ventilators out our asses. There's millions of doses of hydroxychlorequin and Z-packs available. Remdesivir and other drugs are showing promise. Testing research is moving forward at a rapid pace, and tests are producing results in shorter and shorter times. I honestly don't think it could have been managed better, given, as he says, the cupboards were bare when it all started. The dems would have appointed a panel based on diversity, and we'd be hearing complaints the masks and gowns are all mono-colored, or don't include a codpiece for the things that identify as male but are not...

Let's say there's a family that has been in isolation since the very beginning of this outbreak. No one in the family has the virus. They remain isolated until July. When they decide to rejoin society, they can still get the virus. All this flattening of the curve isn't going to actually STOP people from becoming infectificated. Now that we have all the goodies to fight it, we should open up the economy, but keep the flight restrictions from troublesome countries in place. I don't believe the governors are fucked at all. I just believe Trump made it clear that he can't be held responsible for every death that happens after the country does open back up, as was implied by some liberal douchebag MSM shills.

 

Of course he can be "held responsible" if that's what people decide. The political gods don't give one **** what's right or wrong. We'll see in November if people hold him responsible or not.

 

We'll know way before that--when the first Presidential debate happens and Biden asks people to vote for him for Senate because, you know, that's the thing he's there for...

He's not. While he's not very articulate, he's actually quite skillful at being just sufficiently vague and ambiguous to escape being held strictly accountable for the effects of his words and actions.

This is unsurprising, given his history of success as a real-estate developer. The same skillset allows a person to manipulate others into making investments which are beneficial to you but harmful to them, and then deny wrongdoing by claiming that it's not your fault that they misinterpreted you.

That will indeed be interesting.

While there seems to be little doubt that Biden is going to look like someone in the early stages of dementia during the debates, I question whether this will actually matter to anyone.

The #VoteBlueNoMatterWho crowd have already made it quite clear that even though they don't particularly want Biden to be president, they're going to vote for him anyway in an effort to un-seat Trump. Some have even gone so far as to say that they'd vote for a rapist in order to get Trump out of the White House.

They are no more likely to be swayed into making a rational decision based upon facts than those people in the #KeepAmericaGreat crowd are.


This isn't like the days of Reagan, when votes paid attention to issues. In 1980, Reagan took 91% of the electoral vote against Carter, which means that a lot of moderate democrats in historically "blue" states voted for him. In 1984, Reagan took 97.5% of the electoral vote against Mondale.

Ever since G.W. Bush, it seems that this has been changing. The electoral process itself is becoming more polarized, candidates are moving further towards the extremes of their party doctrine, bipartisan-ism in congress is disappearing, and voters are casting ballots on emotion rather than fact.

Many, such as Braineack, are simply falling along strict party lines (this color good, this color bad) and then back-filling that logic with justifications, while others have become single-issue voters, which amounts to the same thing, as any issue which is that sufficiently polarizing is also going to be strictly divided by party lines insofar as candidate platforms.

Im critical of republicans, especially conservatives. I don't call myself either. But I'm sure as ******* hell not going to vote for a democrat. And while there is a two-party system, I'll vote against Blue, which is the direct vote against them--Red.
