Both Targets in my neighborhood are boarded up.
Marianos got smashed last night, and is boarded up.
Jewel is preemptively boarding up.
There is literally no place I can buy groceries right now in my neighborhood. And, as my profile clearly states, I live in the non-murder part of town. But the riots have reached us.
I'm honestly a bit nervous right now, especially since I live on the first floor of this building, with a big sliding glass door facing the street. I'd feel a hell of a lot better if I had a short-barreled AR with a couple of 30 round magazines next to my bed. But alas, Chicago gun laws state that only criminals are allowed to own those.
And the FOID backlog is pretty long.

In my business, you go where the work is. Good jobs in broadcasting only exist in major cities.
Believe me, if I had the ability to live wherever I wanted, I'd be back in San Diego. But it's a crappy broadcast market. (Too small.)

Atlanta is a shithole.
I've lived briefly in NC twice, and am not a big fan of it. Also, Charlotte is market # 24, so it's outside of the realm of places with good employment for top-level TV people.
... and now they're in Wrigleyville. This is literally my neighborhood. Fortunately, this group hasn't done any rioting yet.
That's Wrigley Field right there. Home of the Chicago Cubs:
And they're now marching towards it.

You might consider hanging a hammock in a back room at Sears tower.
First floor? I thought you were on thirty something. My advice would be to get everything irreplaceable out and lock it up somewhere at work. And if the thugs show up just open the door and welcome them in.

Then I was on the 3rd floor at a place on Kedzie & Addisson. Good location, except it was noisy as hell. The bedroom window was right on Kedzie Ave across from an all-night bar, and even with earplugs I found it had to sleep through the night.
The current place is much quieter, and very spacious and nice.
I've already brought the backup hard drive to the office. There's not much else here that's irreplaceably valuable.

George Floyd? Liberals don't care about the drug addict--who overdosed on fentanyl, alcohol, and meth, while having a heart condition--George Floyd, they care about opportunity.
He was a good boy though.

^ Wish I could give more than one
One of my friends down in western FL, in a suburb of Tampa, actually, put it this way: "Please, please do not bring this **** into the suburbs. That is where all of the people who argue about how many guns to carry on any given day live, and we've got a lot of pent-up frustration after three months in quarantine."
Two gun stores in the area got smashed. Based upon what happened in the seconds which followed, I'm assuming those will be the last in that neighborhood.
