Bald eagles & coyotes keep looting my neighbor's chicken coop. I went outside without a mask & intentionally started a fire to grill some steaks. My truck windshield got broken when a dump truck tossed a pebble at it. Other than that, it's been pretty quiet around here. This is why I don't live in the city anymore.

That's awesome!

The better half and I working on getting our finances in order, so that we can move out of OKC proper. Nice thing about Oklahoma with only two larger cities:

I should be able to find a fairly nice, but modest home, on 5-10 acres with high speed internet access, well/septic so no need for the city, and still only be 30-40 minutes from an NBA game for $250k or less.

It is unfortunate that you’re stuck in the big-metro market trap. Occupational hazard, I guess.
I think this pandemic might give a lot of folks more flexibility, once it dawns on the corporate bean-counters that their business actually continues with folks working at home. About 10 years ago, my wife’s company realized that they could eliminate 225,000 square feet of leased office space if they let people transition to remote work. We had to supply sufficient broadband to support online conferences, otherwise it’s “be where you want.” They saved a mountain of overhead costs.

My job went away, but I got enough of a GTFO package that we’re good with me doing some part-time consulting. This is why I can live in a small village in rural Maine.
EVERYBODY, kids included, has guns and dogs. We also have a Karen for a governor who looks like Mike Myers in bad drag.

I'd make more money if I moved to a bigger city it's not worth it. And I could never live in one of the Yankee hellhole citys

By this picture you'd almost think I was in the country. But I'm in the heat of it...

For some reason my dumb *** won't leave. I could easily go work a more dangerous job and live in paradise.

I'll keep risking my life here in the Hollywood, Flo Rida 'burbs. Y'all can keep the sticks. I only have about 1200 sq ft of grass. And I pay someone to cut it. And my grill is natural gas so I don't even have to rustle up a propane tank.

So yeah, when the Zombie Apocalypse comes, I'll be a Zombie. Til then, I'll keep roughing it.

I live in the south east. chick-fil-a has the better experience. Popeye's with their fake high fructose corn syrup honey on their chicken is a taste of heaven.

I can't stand that stuff.

When I was a kid back in southwest FL, we used to visit KFC every now and then. My grandmother loved it. I can remember with some clarity the day we went there and I found that they were no longer giving out real honey, but rather "honey sauce." I hadn't even noticed the change in labeling on the packet, the taste was just immediately objectionable.

A waste of a perfectly good biscuit, that was.

In adulthood, I have never once gone back to a KFC, and I think the only time I've ever eaten Popeye's (outside of PR), was at the Atlanta airport, mostly because it was the least-objectionable-looking thing late at night during a long layover. This was before the big remodel about 10 years ago, when some halfway-decent restaurants opened up in concourse E.

I really don't understand how anyone who has actually tasted real honey can find that stuff pleasant-tasting. It's like comparing maple syrup to Aunt Jemima.

Bojangles tea is too hit or miss, chick-fil-a tea is always on point and they have better ice. Although Bojangles has all day breakfast which is pretty great.

KFC changed formula or something. Went so far down hill. :(

Anyone else have chicken shack? They are usually dilapidated and look ready to be closed for health inspector violations a y second. I think their chicken is really good.

CFA is the best though. The one that opened in my town a few months ago has had a 50 car line every day since.

This seems unrelated now...
