We need to force equality of outcome, by discriminating against minorities based on the color of their skin!
(In NYC public schools, white and Asian students combined account for around 1/3 of total enrollment, and are thus a minority.)
So sayeth Richard A. Carranza, New York City’s school chancellor.
Carranza is displeased by the fact that too many of the students being admitted to NYC's most elite public schools (those with a significant STEM focus, to which admission is based on the student's performance on a standardized admission test, like a jr. SAT,) are Asian or white.

When asked about the reasonableness of his plans by a Time reporter, he replied:
" Well, how far out on a limb did the Supreme Court go in 1954? Brown v. Board of Education. They were very clear. Schools cannot be segregated. Schools must be integrated."
Actually, that's not what the court said in Brown v. Board. It said that schools may not deny admission to students on the basis of their race, and that's actually what you are proposing to do! Deny white and Asian students access to schools which they are otherwise qualified for, because their skin is the wrong color.
But this doesn't only hurt the smart kids. Taking kids who aren't geniuses and sticking them into a classroom where they're teaching advanced calculus does NOT help them.
Wanna improve the performance of all students at all levels? Don't do stupid stuff that makes it harder for them to learn.

A Tennessee man is in jail after being accused of pulling a gun on a Sam's Club customer Saturday.
According to the police report, officers were called to Sam's Club due to a person with a gun.
According to the alleged victim Terry Pierce, a man pulled a gun on him because he was wearing a Make America Great Again (MAGA) hat.
...
"I went out the front of the store to confront him again and that's when I got him in his car. He couldn't leave because his mother was still in the store. And we were having a verbal altercation outside," said Pierce.

Hahaha. Oh, man, I forgot about the chicken and the duck. That was a hell of a great argument.
This having been said, I'm gonna call BS-adjacent on this:
The Berlin Wall was constructed to prevent people from crossing from an area of low economic prosperity into an area of high economic prosperity.
Ditto the Trump Wall.
The only meaningful difference was which side of the wall the government which ordered its construction was on.
Also, this is the second time in a week you have made me defend the point of view of a ******* socialist. Please stop doing that, as it makes me feel icky.

Source for claim that illegal Mexican immigrants are responsible for a significant preponderance of drugs, sex trafficking, crime, gangs, and general opposition to the rule of law in the US?
https://www.dailywire.com/news/10155...-aaron-bandler
https://www.dps.texas.gov/administra...Statistics.htm
https://pjmedia.com/jchristianadams/...-2993-murders/
Back when you lived in California, the Governator said that illegal immigrants added $1,000 to the cost of medical insurance for every California family. It's obviously more now. I can remember having to pull an ER doctor off a illegal alien family who was in the ER room because they had the flu. My son just happened to have stopped breathing so I thought he should have gone first.
Another good story--a friend of mine was hit by a drunk illegal alien driver. He ended up with a broken bike and a broken hip. The I.D. and insurance car used by the illegal alien turned out to be false--it was "real" enough to fool the cop on scene, but the guy disappeared the day after.
Another good story--I've got several friends who are now ex-teachers. They say (to a person) that public school is nothing more than day care for lots of ESL kids. They drag down the classroom learning experience, and it only takes one disruptive kid to ruin an entire classroom.
This isn't bigotry or racism...if anything "class-ism" or "culture-ism' would be closer to the mark for many. But what it really is is reality.
Isn't that one of the gun control arguments? "One school shooting/mass shooting is one too many?"...?

from post 13675:
as nation of laws, isn't the simple fact they cross into our border and violate immigration laws not enough?
We aren't building the wall to keep people in and starve them to death...and we already require visas to travel to and from Mexico

Perhaps I am just a simple minded hick but it seems to me like there is a real simple solution to the illegals flooding into the USA from anywhere else.
Simply have serious penalties for any person or company for hiring or paying somebody who is not a US citizen, or who lacks the proper non-citizen paperwork (green card?).
By serious I mean quadruple fines, lose any business license they might have, and lots of other socially acceptable punishments.
If it is a legally operating business any officers and employees directly involved in hiring should also be required to pay hefty fines personally on top of business fines.
If somebody coming into this country cannot make a living then they are either independently wealthy or are associated with some sort of illegal money making activity.
Illegals are coming to the USA for a more prosperous and safe lifestyle than is available in their own country.
If that is taken away the flood will slow to a trickle and the best way to stop it is to remove the root reason for the behavior.
Anything else, including a stupid wall at the border, is just a bandaid.

The 9th circuit would just overturn that and voters would cry a lot. but yes e-verify for all employers would help a lot.
Most cities devote a huge chunk of their tax revenue into giving free stuff to non-citizens -- end those incentives and they'll stop coming. We are making it easier than ever for people to come to this country and live on the dull; offering free higher education, healthcare, cell phones, food/income for nothing in return ( but to vote democrat). Liberals treat non-citizens much better than me. I'm taxed for everything, disproportionately, and receive little direct benefits from it -- the more I try and nicer I try to make my own life, the more I'm penalized.
The feds simply can't enforce it and the states are welcoming them to my money with open arms.
or lets outlaw income inequity, and everyone can wait in breadlines!

Let's ban people in general at that point, since statistically speaking, more child molestation is committed by American citizens in American than by illegal immigrants in America.
