Here's a pic of the current set up, FWIW

I rerouted the hot side a little by cutting the U pipe, adding in a 7.5" straight pipe, and cut 4" off the L pipe. I didn't have time to spray the straight pipe, so it's silver and everything else is black.

The orange thing over the unpainted pipe (below the filter) is a hose insulator that I found laying around. I cut a small section of it and clamped it to the hot pipe that's directly under the airfilter.

Yes, I know the breather isn't hooked up properly. This is temporary only.

I'll be using Fujita if that helps anyone. It's ~$35. It's a 4" air filter - to fit over the Sc-50s

(My build thread will come soon)

Ah yeah, I forgot that the charge piping would be in the way if you are not clocked. I guess mine has been that way ever since I intercooled it. :gay:

then add a bit of length of pipe to bolt the elbow to to move it out more....do you really need duct tape?

i dunno if you can tell but there is a 3"x4" pipe in there....

When I was at the dyno, I stuck my hand around the filter and felt around during both power runs and steady state. I was amazed at how much cooler the air just behind the headlamp bucket is than the air next to the motor where my filter is.

i'm going on vacation. I dont have time to start projects!!

Seriously tho, I'd fix it now but my PS rez is in the way. I need 4" angled turbo hose and a short piece of pipe and THEN we'll deal with it. Oh and some aluminum to make a cold air box.

Dude my filter is 6 inches long before the mods the it is 5 inches across at the top 6 at the bottom, i needed it to be angled a hair so it would fit them i noticed that i had to trim the hood abit on the corner. I: have no room to move it further out it hits the fender as it is now.
