This is a ebay T3 50 trim, right?
For a background, I have a 1.6, tacotaco cast manifold, and aiming for a very streetable 200rwhp. I'm pretty new to turbos, but I've been reading a lot as to not sound like a complete idiot.
It seems like the cheap 50 trim T3 chinacharger is pretty decent turbo for the 1.6. I'm pretty sure this is the/a turbo Braineack uses, as well as the turbo this guy eventually switched to from a T3/T4 hybrid (can't remember his forum name here...)
Anyway, in searching I found this quote. Wondering if this is a rounding error, or if the turbos just change slightly over time? This is the turbo I am looking at, Comp 43.20 / 60.41 - Turbine 45.74 / 62.86. If my math is any good, that is something like .51 trim on the turbine, and .52 on the compressor.
What I was looking for...
My math puts that at .49/.50? Surly both these turbos (the ebay one linked, and the "ebay 50 trim" Braineack references) would preform about the same? Are they the same thing?
Thanks for looking!
