Default how do you re-clock a garrett?

I've got a Garrett GT2860rs and I want to reclock the compressor housing.

It looks easy enough. It looks like you could just unbolt the compressor cover and rotate it on the center section, then rebolt. Murphy's law tells me that this is more complicated than that.

Thx for your response.

Nope, it's just that easy. May be a bit stuck at first, but I find that loosening all the bolts and using a broom handle in the compressor (while you're securing the turbine housing in a vise) is the best way to go about it if they're stuck.

Otherwise, most new-ish turbos are easily clockable by hand.

Nope, just need to turn the compressor; center section stays put.

approx 15ftlbs torque + lock-tite on the bolts?

Thank you for your responses!

You hit it with a hammer

I love saying this when it is true.

Unbolt it. Then hit with hammer to knock it loose. Unless it is brand new it will be siezed. Also kroil
