Hey 18psi, what setup yielded 200/210? Was that still with a B6/BP?

well that's good
I just hope you also wont be scared of dropping a pretty penny on the rest of the system too, otherwise it will still suck.

that's from some old thread where a guy used a VNT turbo. 1.8 BP iirc.

For you to reach 230tq or whateer it is from 2-4k I'm guessing you'll need a VW 1.8t turbo, or something very similar to it. Even then you probably won't hit that goal unless you go 1.8.

The turbo underdog uses is the best your going to get withoutt redoing the manifold for a t25 footprint...and then you'll need to go to a 3" exhaust to get the benefits of the small size. The 1.6l spools turbos like donkey dick.

Show me a 1.6l with a smaller turbo making better output. Then we can debate the cost vs benefit. I use a rule of thumb of at least 150tq by 3k its what I use to judge. And driving plenty of setups using this rule its a good point. A lot of 1.8ls have troubl achevingt this.

I will tell u a sr20 t25 on a 1.8l is awesome...the same on a 1.6l didn't spool/output much netter than my old t3 s60 but I haven't seen one with a 3" exhaust dynoed. Maybe check out some begi/fm 2554 dynos.

BMW n13 makes 180tq from 1500 to 4500, uncork it and probably make even more.
thats a 1.6l

BMW n20 makes 258tq from 1350 to 4800
2l motor

Merc i4 turbo makes 230~ tq from 2000 to 4300
1.8l

turbo mini's make good tq and power output down low as well
they are also a single scroll turbo.

What do the cars that have all these motors weigh?

Also, assuming you get a turbo/setup that will be able to produce enough pressure and flow that low down, what makes you think the miata motor will be able to CONSUME it? And not just surge resulting in fail and aids?

Basically I think you're looking for a completely different car/platform and/or just day dreaming

I'm trying to figure out from this post (and others) whether you're really this stupid/ignorant or trolling us.

that's also a 1.8L and not even his best dyno...it outputted better once his replaced that MSI with MS3, but you wouldn't want to hear that either.

I still challenge you to find a turbo miata 1.6L with the output you want. heck, you'll have trouble finding a 1.8L with the same.

So after failing to accomplish what 90% of the folks here have done with ease, you are setting out to accomplish something that pretty much no one has done so far on a regular 'ol miata?

even if I were to make say 250whp or more I wouldn't be happy because it takes too long to accelerate, you don't make tq till near 3800-4000 revs in 4th gear with a t3 60 and even then its way worse in lower gears.
