I've wanted to make a divorced downpipe ever since I saw Corky's new downpipe design. This past week I finally had some miata time and put one together. The main reason for upgrading my downpipe is because I was experiencing boost spiking at 12psi with my gt25r. I tried adjusting it through my EBC, but never could solve the problem. So, I thought it might be my downpipe design. I've since installed my gt28rs and have been running my old downpipe with no boost spiking...but I'll save that for another thread

During installation, I ran into a snag. I was unable to get a good seal at the downpipe flange. I had the flange sanded down, but still was getting exhaust leakage. I broke down and bought a gasket off of ebay the other day. I did not want to disassemble the flange and have it milled flat. Hopefully I'll be able to test this thing out Saturday.

I've tossed around the idea of making a downpipe for hks manifold. I just don't feel like taking apart my car anytime soon.
