Oh, and I have the harness the "right" way now. It does look better.

Again, I think it's a problem with the MS ignition trigger having enough current to properly drive our module. I've seen this twice now. There is a fix, I'm just not very familiar with the MS boards. Alternatively you can run sequential ignition (this way you're using 4 channels to drive 4 channels on our module instead of 2 MS channels to drive 4 on our module). If I find some spare time in the next couple of days I'll do some reading, otherwise I you could contact the ECU manufacturer/builder.
MS outputs are low-current 0-5v outputs. No issues driving the stock ignition or other cops.

What does the module recommend for triggers?

5v and our module want's allofit. However when running wasted spark you're splitting that current between 2 channels and that's where the problem comes in.

I've been working on a harness that increases the signal voltage for situations like this using solid state photo relays but I have limited time on my hands.

Any MS suggestions? Is it as simple as change in value of a pull-up resistor?

i think the pull up in the MSPNP1 is 1K? you could easily go down to 100ohm.

yeah page 7: http://msextra.com/doc/general/pix/MS357.pdf

1K pull ups.

when I would build that circuit I'd use 100 or 330ohm pull ups.

Thank you for the upload - That's exactly what the other MS guy was experiencing. If you're interested I can send you a sample of the latest harness I put together, still PNP. A more reliable solution seems to be the resistor swap though. The less components involved the better in my opinion.

Here is a quick clip of my NB - Same ignition setup I ship to our customers but I'm using an AEM ECU. (video seems pretty tame with what appear to be short gears but it started to slide out on me in 4th gear and I have a 3.636 rear end).

I need to get my 3.63 rear put in!
I should just sell it and get MS3e :/
Yeah I'd rather do the resistor (but that would make it one-off unsaleable correct?)
Problem 1: I don't know where that is on MS2PnP
Problem 2: Just a 100 ohm resistor? That's it
Problem 3: It's hot as hell here in Florida. I have overheating issue to address since I went with one massive intercooler.

Question:
In MS2 should ignition be on Coil on plug instead of wasted spark like it has been?

wait you have an MSPNP2? that might be different.

Yes sir for 99-00.
This is what I get needing an ecu NOW.

the MSPNP2 uses the microsquirt module. I *think* the output is 5v normally and it pulls-down to ground with a 100K.

Big intercooler blocks air to radiator. Sealing everything becomes more important and still may not be enough to overcome the blockage.

Yeah I hit on my plan in my build thread.
I'm getting a meaty radiator, I got 2 fans already. Make a nice shroud, and duct my 2 smaller side vents on my bumper to the radiator to bypass the intercooler.

I got to look into the sealing thing.

So I'll probably be swapping back to stock ignition till this can get everything sorted out

Incorrect, it will still be compatible with the stock ignition (and other ignition systems). Most systems require a minimal voltage of 5 to trigger and you'd still be providing this. In fact, if I recall - somewhere in the DIY (?) documentation the mention changing the resistor value to get a stronger spark from stock ignition systems.

Oh okay, good to know.
BTW thanks just JUST releasing info about doing LS coils :(

I sent DIYAutotune an email and linked this topic maybe they can help me out. I do have to send my MS back to get the IACv and O2 circuits fixed.

I installed the MSM coils on the denso plugs tonight and reverted the settings till we can figure this out.

I need a radiator so bad.

I have the thick Mishimoto I'll sell. It was an extra part after I built my car. $250

That'll probably solve that problem with some fancy ducting.
I'm actually liking that idea, remember where I live?

I'm going to Valrico this afternoon if you want to meet.

"That shouldn't need any mods. But if their ignition module isn't
working, you could use our QuadSpark.

Thanks,

I don't think that's really what Matt meant.

The Quadspark still requires a 5v signal. You'll run into the exact same problem trying to run it as a wasted spark. Driving two BIP373 transistors (found in the Quadspark) with one MS ignition signal.

Another MS customer just scoped his ignition signals while running our system and the signal voltage was 4.2v. Not a strong 5v unfortunately.

Quote from the QuadSpark product page: "Each channel needs a 5 volt logic level signal."
