My dad owned a 370z Nismo edition for a month before he sold it. Said it was really fast, and yet it was the most unrewarding car he has ever driven that is supposed to be a "sports car".
Plus he said the snap oversteer was terrifying in it. Not a lot of feedback due to all the electronic gizmos in it.
I admit it did look pretty damn good though, just didn't feel invigorating or exciting when you drove it.
He is really wanting a Clubsport ND when it hits the dealers, just none available unless it has an automatic.

I'll jump on the 350Z hate pile.
My brother had an '08 that stickered $60k out the door up here. It looked good, was effortlessly fast, but driving it brought me little joy. I put it through a sweeper at 90 MPH or so, think I may have lit up the stability control, and didn't get giddy like a school girl.

Ugh, that's what I was referring to when I said "touch the poop" a few pages ago. I was low-effort trolling in a thread called "THE ND NEMESIS" and it was about the S2000, I brought up that the 350Z was faster than the S2000 around a road course, so where does it fit on the ND - S2000 - 350Z spectrum?
Some guy kept on insisting that no one tracks Z33s or Z34s and that he felt that they weren't faster than an S2000 in the face of data (read: R&T's Lightning Lap) that the Z cars are faster than the infallible S2000.
It may not look pretty, it may not be fun, it may not be a feat of engineering, but it is the Mustang of Japan. It is faster than the S2000 stock-for-stock; however, it's just another data point for HP not being the end-all for how much fun it is to drive a car.

The 350z was never competing against the Miata, but rather the Mustang and Camaro / Firebird type cars for marketshare, imo. My friend has a single Turbonetics turbo on his 350z making 425whp/420tq and Tein electronic remote control shocks and it is still no fun to drive in curves. And the interior plastics were inferior to my NA.
370z is not a competitor to the ND.

Cool, people on mnet are arguing about regular versus premium.
:waycool:
Regular gas has a tiny bit more potential energy than premium. The additives to make it premium only slow down the flame front, they do not add any energy to gasoline itself. The additives actually displace gasoline, thus the tiny drop in potential energy. I have never seen a scientific study where a car got measurably better mileage on premium than regular, all other things being equal.
