My buddy ( what is now my red Turbo 95 miata) killed a lt1 z28 that the Guy just installed a s/c in. That Guy stripped and sold his car and quit the car game after getting pwnd by a miata!

My 1/8th mile time didn't change from 9 -14psI. Yes the car was way faster.

But traction was way worse.

I bet the 1/4 would be better.

The car has been so much fun lately! Just 156hp and 140tq, I've always wondered why Mazda never went through with the turbo deal in the first place.

There is no way to set the gopro camera sound just right, it's either too loud (wind noise) or too quiet. I think I'm going to try a helmet setup next time I do this.

 

Next time face the camera backwards so we can see him loose!

They did in a half-assed way with the MazdaSpeed. I cant wait untill they come to their senses and just do the same MZR enigine from the MS3 and MS6 into an NC.

Nice job! I am not surprised at all. Riced 5.0s are about the slowest thing on the planet save my S10 pickup LOL. They can be very, very fast, but usually are not.

I realy do mean in the first place. Like with the NA miata the thing is already tapped for oil feed and return. Then they changed their minds about it.

 

You're right they should have. Hell it's already a turbo motor from another vehicle anyways.

 

I have a feeling that if Miata's had always come with turbos, we would all be paying way for for insurance than we are now.

From an MZR-Turbo owner, I think that would be a big mistake and would never buy one. Some of these MS3/MS6's are blowing up in completely stock trim! We're talking Rod Failure! Not to mention they'd probably just get cheap for packaging reasons and slap a POS top-mounted heatercore of an intercooler with it also.

I'll be honest, I love my MS6 but I think the driveline they used is a total joke. Kinda like Communism, looked great on paper but in real practice... Not so much.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they failing at part throttle as well?

 

I think these fucked up mazdaspeed3/6 issues are due to some fucked up fueling issue. I wonder if any have kablooied due to a fuel pump. Rods don't break at cruise unless fuel goes dead.
