This photo doesn't do it justice. We're balanced on structural beams two floors up from the nearest concrete slab, and bathed in whatever substance replaced asbestos in the 1960s.
And man, they aren't wasting any time. I hadn't even sent the email to News Center, and they already have the new shot on-air. They've been using it as the generic backdrop since the start of the 4pm show.
This Panasonic AW-HE40 camera is ******* amazing for only $3k. During setup, I zoomed it all the way in and I was able to read the small print on the bottom of a banner hung on the front of the Field Museum, from the 105th floor of Sears Tower, which is 1.3 miles away.
The old camera is in a canvas bag in the trunk of my car. I intend to toss it as high as possible on its way into the dumpster. Rest in pieces.

Yes, it's not fast, but handles and stops above my expectations.
Interior is perfect (for me) and has some cool 21st century features.
50 MPH in 6th is 2000 RPM. That will get some getting used to.
Side markers/signals are blanked out because not US DOT spec.
I also discovered it has some sort of "timed" hill holder feature. Releases the brakes after a few seconds, tho.
Came with a gas card. (Which is the nicest feature ever, because a tank of gas is about almost 20% of a whole month's minimum wage here - it would be tantamount to you guys paying about $240 for a tank of gas for this car.)
Saw one of these at a track last summer playing on pavement... looks like an absolute hoot to drive. GSX-R750 engine. I think if there were enough of them local to make a series it would be a lot of fun, and relatively inexpensive racing.
