This doesn't fit the usual music that gets posted here but some might appreciate the effort and talent required...

The following link isn't why I posted, skim and use as reference if you don't have the patience or find Classical music boring. If I remember correctly, this is performed exactly as Schubert originally wrote Erlkönig:

Here it is arranged for cello quintet:

Finally, the reason I felt compelled to post. Most impressive is hearing it played on SOLO violin by Kristof Barati. Great speed/energy but some intonation issues on difficult hand/finger stretches:

Here it is performed by Hillary Hahn with better audio quality and a slower tempo so you might be able to better see the technique required. I like the precision but wish she'd taken more risk with the tempo:

Hearing these makes me regret falling out of shape and selling my expensive violin. Again, I'm not trying to brag...I'll blame my last two posts on being slightly high on prescription pain killers after having my wisdom teeth removed! Watch, this'll get me totally banned.

What is as big as a house, runs through 20 liters of fuel every hour, puts up tons of smoke and noise, and cuts apple into three pieces?

That's an incredible show. I thought about starting a whole new thread to talk about it. How many other people here are watching the miniseries Chernobyl on HBO?

Enough that it warrants it's own thread.

It's been a while since i've liked a show this much...

Great show indeed. I've watched tons of documentaries about the event in years past, but nothing has come anywhere near as close to hammering home the human impact and experience.

Been watching Chernobyl. Great show. I also recommend the audiobook Midnight in Chernobyl.

Here's an amazing pic of the "bio-robots" shoveling core debris off the roof after the remote controlled robots all fried out from the radiation. You can see the photograph is all washed out at the bottom from radiation.

Chernobyl is soooo good, i'm completely hooked. @wackbards I think this is one big part they left out of the show. They had people going up in shifts for specific amounts of time, so they didn't get a lethal dose of radiation, and hearing some of their descriptions was pretty crazy. I also read at one point, that some of the early volunteers, got compensation of getting a better spot in line for a Lada. Apparently wait to get a car was super long, and they only got a shorter wait.

Also, I found this channel a while back which is ran by an engineer currently working at Chernobyl, and has some really cool videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC96...PVAmZRhcC0SU8Q
