Could not be more obvious what happened there... makes the left onto the road and immediately goes head-down onto her/his phone. It actually looks like about 100ft before impact, starts accelerating a little harder.

The real tragedy is that the driver will probably sue and win big. Some lawyer will look at the two parked work trucks, the distance between them, the number of cones out at each location and other safety markings... and it will be decided that the gardeners (either contractors or perhaps the city/county) were grossly negligent for parking in the street to mow the grass. The idea that the driver may have been on the phone will be ruled inadmissible as speculation. They'll just say "I didn't see the trailer because there weren't enough safety markers..."... to the tune of $2.5 million in damages and suffering.

Watch Hamilton pull the steering wheel towards himself as he gets on the straight.
Front wheel geometry changes when the steering wheel is pulled.

https://streamable.com/e48rq

If he is increasing negative toe for high speed stability, that will chew the tires.
This is based on the assumption negative toe promotes understeer, and they are trying to make the car more turn friendly by eliminating it in the turns.

Or, he could be messing around with camber to get a larger contact patch, which could be useful for braking at the end of the straight.

I should immediately implement this in my car. Steering wheel pull/push for the front, and the seat back recline/back to near upright for the rear...

Most likely steering geometry control for front tire temp management over longer straights. Interesting how it will work, if/when it will be copied. Also interesting that these guys always find room for creative interpretation and novelty, even in such areas that one would consider pretty much standard nowadays.

That's wild. It will be interesting to see what's going on.

EDIT: Just read an article that it is changing toe. My guess is, they are using it to bring toe back to 0 on the straights for less drag on the tires themselves. And I'm sure the car is tuned for whatever change in aero happens when the tire moves like that.
