Pac Man makes a lot more sense once you have some perspective.

That’s just the variable timing electronic control, with the dynamic mechanical height and angle adjustment, kicking in.

Sorry, I thought the first picture was a Miata engine.

Like, did Honda know something that eluded the rest of the world? Were they being Luddites? Was there one specific individual high up in their technical management who had very firmly-held beliefs about that one specific thing?

I had to replace the element often; always wore down. I wanted to upgrade it to electrical, but alas.

There are some really awesome Honda things about that car, the dizzy was not one of them. The access ports to remove the upper shock bolts was one. Or putting the crank bolt in just the perfect location, that with the wheel turned I could access and break free with the car on the ground so the motor wouldn't spin.

pro-tip: jack stands make awesome crazy-extension supporters.

You guys sell some wonderful machines. Having spent a lot of money getting trees removed lately, I can easily imagine the payback for a company buying one.

So I made these...
Cost next to nothing, powder coated bright red to avoid trips and whatnot, and they make ride height adjustment, etc a breeze.
Adjustable for different rim/tire sizes and multiple holes for the Miatae, an Evo 9 and a Modena 360.
Back of the napkin sketch to the laptop, laser cut, media blasted and powder coated.

Yes, this is that rust bucket '03 I posted a little while ago.
