lol, it's a joke. This didn't happen to me. However I'm glad you posted in here. I have a buddy who's a Nigerian Prince, and I don't know if you're aware but that nation is basically in civil war right now. If you are willing to transfer some funds from his account to yours, then when he immigrates to the US return that money, he'll give you a healthy percentage of the funds, roughly $50,000. If you're interested PM me your SS#, routing and account number, and home address.

Herp Derp.

With the amount of stupid things people do to their cars, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if someone ACTUALLY put their brake pads in backwards.

watched the video. was this a trick?! did Penn and Teller see the fake out?

soviet 08-02-2011 01:15 PM

it's a multi-axis lathe and since both parts are spinning in sync it does those crazy cuts..? the fork thing just blew my mind though.

Pen2_the_penguin 08-02-2011 01:41 PM

how the fuck does it cut angled splined teeth tho?!

elesjuan 08-02-2011 01:46 PM

The very first video shows you at the end in slow motion how it works. Both are spinning at the same rate in sync so every cutting head meets with the surface to be cut at the exact same time.

A way to think about it would be a single cutting head. The lathe would rotate the round bar to say 10 degrees for the cutting head to take a swipe at it. Next cut needed to be at 30 degrees so the lathe would rotate the round bar there and the cutting head takes another swipe at it. Exact process, only at like 3000rpm...

http://news.yahoo.com/nasa-data-blow...192334971.html

NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth's atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.
Study co-author Dr. Roy Spencer, a principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and U.S. Science Team Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer flying on NASA's Aqua satellite, reports that real-world data from NASA's Terra satellite contradict multiple assumptions fed into alarmist computer models.
"The satellite observations suggest there is much more energy lost to space during and after warming than the climate models show," Spencer said in a July 26 University of Alabama press release. "There is a huge discrepancy between the data and the forecasts that is especially big over the oceans."
In addition to finding that far less heat is being trapped than alarmist computer models have predicted, the NASA satellite data show the atmosphere begins shedding heat into space long before United Nations computer models predicted.
The new findings are extremely important and should dramatically alter the global warming debate.
Scientists on all sides of the global warming debate are in general agreement about how much heat is being directly trapped by human emissions of carbon dioxide (the answer is "not much"). However, the single most important issue in the global warming debate is whether carbon dioxide emissions will indirectly trap far more heat by causing large increases in atmospheric humidity and cirrus clouds. Alarmist computer models assume human carbon dioxide emissions indirectly cause substantial increases in atmospheric humidity and cirrus clouds (each of which are very effective at trapping heat), but real-world data have long shown that carbon dioxide emissions are not causing as much atmospheric humidity and cirrus clouds as the alarmist computer models have predicted.
The new NASA Terra satellite data are consistent with long-term NOAA and NASA data indicating atmospheric humidity and cirrus clouds are not increasing in the manner predicted by alarmist computer models. The Terra satellite data also support data collected by NASA's ERBS satellite showing far more longwave radiation (and thus, heat) escaped into space between 1985 and 1999 than alarmist computer models had predicted. Together, the NASA ERBS and Terra satellite data show that for 25 years and counting, carbon dioxide emissions have directly and indirectly trapped far less heat than alarmist computer models have predicted.
In short, the central premise of alarmist global warming theory is that carbon dioxide emissions should be directly and indirectly trapping a certain amount of heat in the earth's atmosphere and preventing it from escaping into space. Real-world measurements, however, show far less heat is being trapped in the earth's atmosphere than the alarmist computer models predict, and far more heat is escaping into space than the alarmist computer models predict.
When objective NASA satellite data, reported in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, show a "huge discrepancy" between alarmist climate models and real-world facts, climate scientists, the media and our elected officials would be wise to take notice. Whether or not they do so will tell us a great deal about how honest the purveyors of global warming alarmism truly are.

I love how when we have cold winters, the GW criers fall all over themselves to point out that local, seasonal temps are not proof one way or the other, but when we have hot summers, they can't help but imply that it's evidence of anthropomorphic climate change.

I'm sorry, but they can't tell me what the weather TOMORROW is going to be like with ANY certainty at all, so I'm supposed to believe what they think the next 10 years is going to be like? :loser:

:loser:

After sifting through that guy's venemous epithets and denialism like "alarmist computer models" (next time link to the scientist source, not the heavily biased "smoking isn't bad for you" editorialist), it sounds like they are simply saying that climate change is potentially less sensitive to carbon emissions than current models shown.

BUT the UAH (univ alabama, huntsville) record of temperature data still shows an upward trend.

Also NASA says 2010 ties 2005 for warmest year on record.

I was mostly making a joke. When we have a blizzard in DC, climate deniers are ALL OVER THE PLACE. They don't publish much in summer. The original journal article was published in May...

Yo Min, shut the fuck up. PETA openly supports urban terrorist groups and is pretty much a useless group of losers who have accomplished nothing to help any one or any thing. I love their idea of setting animals free. I'll just leave my bull dog outside and watch him die of heat stroke. At least he'll be free, right?

Ingrid is fucking moron and will be slain by the mighty Ted Nugent.
