It's pretty clear that Mazda was scraping the bottom of the parts bin to put together the last of the NBs after production started shifting over to make the NC.

Yeah, IIRC the 04-05 fog lights are different as well. A friend tried to fit my facelift lights on his car and got nowhere. Mounts/lights/everything are all different.

I’m not quite sure how I stumbled across that ad but I think I was looking for a cheap beater Miata for me to use as a parts car/work beater. That miata definately is an NB2, but with NB1 side sills? Everything about this whole ad screams shady business.

Cool looking EV converted Miata popped up in Los Angeles. I'm tempted to get it just to never have to deal with smog again.

https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lg...640099842.html

Ever want something that no one else has? Want to have more attention at Cars and Coffee than the Vintage Ferrari Dino two cars down? Have you scouted eBay ads at 1am for a Tesla Roadster or Lotus Elise waiting for the $75,000 price tag to go down? Want to fit in with the car guys and the hybrid hippies?

Here we go. Immediate Torque. 250hp. 2100lbs. California-Rust-Free Sleeper. No gas. No oil changes. Laughable Annual Insurance. Exotic Jetson's Motor Noise. Variable horsepower at your fingertips. Just in it to save money? Cheapest EV on Craigslist by 4 grand. Plug it into a 110V or 220V outlet at the doctor's office where you have to surgically downsize your ********* every month because of how comfortable you are with your manliness being seen in this car.

Drive 100 cost-free topless and silent miles... or have fun in Topanga Canyon in an oversized RC car that can wink its popup headlights at another Miata.

This Miata has over $16,000 worth of parts for the conversion. We're talking high-output electric motor, customized solid-mount torque-leveling motor cradle, management systems, built-in stand-alone charging station, rectifiers, vacuum pumps to retain power brakes, electronics (understatement of the year), new seats (not a single rip or tear), new carpet, original OEM Mazda floor mats, new soft-top (not a single rip or tear), potentiometers, relays, heavy-gauge wiring, more rectifiers, lithium-ion batteries, upgraded speakers and head unit, front and rear disc brakes, clean brake fluid, suspension modifications (Coil-Overs were oddly required to deal with the even lighter curb weight of removing the original exhaust, gas tank, radiator, engine, etc). The car has already been driven 10,000 miles since the conversion.

So what's the deal? Why am I not driving this badboy to the strip club every night and driving home with two and a half (still has a fully usable trunk) bad decisions who smell like artificial vanilla and cocaine? I'm moving in two months and have two other vehicles I need to figure out. The LiIon batteries on the Miata have aged out and I'd rather have more potential buyers at a lower price than sell a turnkey at a higher price.

The car has a 5-speed manual gearbox, but doesn't have a clutch so it's sort of select-a-gear-and-go, then awkwardly put your left foot to the floor at the stop light because of Freudian Pavlonian automatic response or something. So... you don't need to know how to drive stickshift to drive this car because it's sort of "automatic."

The car's already been registered in CA as an EV so you'll never have to deal with biannual smog coercion fees. I have the clean title on hand. The original key. The original owner's manual. The car was put on non-Op so there are zero back fees or title nightmares. I'll include a custom-fitted UV-resistant car cover, original spare tire, and bill of sale (hopefully shorter than this ad).

Free Delivery within 100 miles of Lake Forest.

$6000 OBO, shoot me a reasonable offer and we'll talk
Thanks,
Jake

I dig how the “fuel cell” replaced the fuel cell, and the plug is where gas cap was.

Somehow, $6k seems high to me for a $2k car with no clutch and a bunch of dead electronics and disclaimers bolted to it.

The guy has basically posted, in the actual For Sale ad, that "this conversion was so badly done that the battery died after only 10k miles."

How do you **** up an electric conversion? My guess is he drained the battery constantly.

Porsche 944 Porsche 944s 2.5L DOHC race car mini stock, ministock - $4000 (Brockport)

We're selling all of our mini stock race cars and parts we're now going super stock asphalt racing for 2018 season. This is an 1987 Porsche 944s which is a 2.5L dual over head cam motor which comes from the factory with a header 1 3/4 primaries. This thing is silly fast it has 188 rwh from the factory with a huge long catalytic converter and massive rear mufler with a very restrictive inlet. I Also removed the AC and power steering so I have no idea how much hp it has now. A friend of mine figured out how to raise the factory rev limiter from 6800 to 8500 or so we never hit the rev limiter again after he did that. Unfortunately we didn't figure it out until the end of the season so we never got a good chance to see how much it helped but it would bounce off the rev limiter at 6700 half way down the straightaway and Cole said it was way faster now. He doesn't want me to even sell it now because he wants to race it with all our weird mechanical issues worked out now but we need cash to do our new venture. Whoever buys it is gonna be glad they did. You don't have to worry about being caught cheating because it's completely stock except for a K&N air filter. This thing will run down the fastest cars on the track with the right driver that has the ***** to drive it to the boards not to mention the ridicules handling right out of the factory. I spared no expense when I put this car together it has autometer gauges and a digital Longacre Accu Tech DLI stepper motor tach and so many new parts I couldn't even begin to mention.I also made a roof hatch for taller/ bigger guys to get in and out easier. It has a 17" Kirkey full containment race seat with new Simpson 5point harness belts a new window net. I also have Nokian Wrg3 tires mounted on some aero race wheels that go with car along with spare pretty much everything to fix the car. If you're interested in car give me a call. I have a bunch of spare parts too including an engine and non lsd transmission. The transmission assembly that is in it is Lsd "limited slip differential" which are for sale on eBay like $1,500 all by itself. Well I couldn't sell it at Genesee Speedway dirt track so I put street tires on it and now were bringing it to Perry speedway Saturday 6/16/18.

That is truly one of the saddest for-sale ads I've ever seen. I really wonder if Mike actually realizes just how little money he is going to get out of that car.

Yeah pretty depressing when someone puts that much effort into something and actually reduces it's value. They just don't see that an expensive and bad concept, poorly executed, is a mistake. This will end up rotting in the grass in the yard.

I wonder what kind of drugs the owner was on when he created this multicolored gem, and came up with the price $9500

but he will give 50% off to the purchaser in his stash of parts. Lol.

https://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/cto...672264222.html

$9500

93 MAZDA MIATA WITH ONLY 60,000 MILES,RUN PERFECT,SELL OR TRADE FOR conversion van,VW BUS,VOLKSWAGEN THING,VANAGON,BUG,BEETLE,CABRIOLET,CONVERTIBLE,CIT ROEN,FIAT,ALFA ROMEO,DELOREAN,PORSCHE,CENTER CONSOLE BOAT,PROPERTY,LAND,ACRES MOTORHOME,RV,ALUMINUM TRAILER,JUKEBOX OR OTHER TOY ????? Please note as long as this posting appears online, the vehicle remains available.
I started this car as a project a few years ago and have enjoyed every moment of it. It is one of a kind Miata that is definitely a "neck breaker." People love it whenever I take it out for a spin! I painted it different colors to separate me from all the other boring cars out on the road. This car would be great to attract attention outside of a business, to use at special events, or to just race around town with! It's a 1993 exterior with a 2001 interior along with racing seats. It has a modified turbo engine, special stainless still Racing Beat exhaust, also low ajustable suspension and halogen headlights/taillights.The radio need to be hoocked up. If you're looking to add a little "color" in your life...this might be the car for you. If not, continue living your dull, boring, just existing life....
"I've been dealing with Miata's as well as parts for over 20 years. To those who purchase a miata off of me, I will discount any part in my inventory 50% off as long as I have it in stock.
This Miata will put a smile on your face. Smiles are contagious. It's good to see people smile.
Did I mention the SPG (smiles per gallon) on this car are unbelievable.
