So I just shot a message to my buddy at GS. I asked if there was a chance that the TMIC would be out by spring for my LGT. He said 100% chance of them being out by spring. Endtanks are being cast as we speak.

I just sold my process west.
They better hurry up. And it better be priced less.

They are going to do a Group Buy on NASIOC when it happens. That will be the best price. Possible to get it cheaper than my vendor prices.

Yeah. I'm keeping an eye out for it, just getting antsy lol.

I've all these parts calling my name to go stg2+, but really not super happy with the tmic offerings, and sold the PW because I don't like the bpv placement being so far and stretching the bpv tube to get it on. I think if the GS doesn't deliver or is ridiculously priced I'll just get another PW.

Everything else I've seen for these years cars sucks

Question on some maintenance for my '05 OBXT:
I just crossed 100k miles, I've put 30k on the car myself since I bought it 3 years ago.
Before winter I'm planning to replace the fluids, do you guys have any recommendations on what to use? (5mt) If not, I'll just buy some mobil 1 in whatever weight the service manual calls for I guess.
Anything else I should do? I just did the timing belt, I'm going to do the tensioner (I skipped that like an idiot, and now I regret it), it's got a new crank pulley, new belts, and I have new suspension bushings I'm going to see if I can have a shop install. I also want to have the injectors sent out for cleaning, as they were causing a misfire code this spring.

Also, where is good to buy things like that tensioner?

Subaru stopped making Extra S. We cannot buy it in barrels anymore at the shop.

I plan to run AMSoil in my LGT... but really there are a lot of good options for cheap. I would suggest doing the standard fluids. Brakes, Diff, Tranny, Power Steering and if you haven't yet new coolant. There is writeups and videos on how to do everything but if you have any questions PM me.

Motoul something, redline lightweight shock proof (aka smurfs blood) are both popular normal gear oil setups. Or there's uncle ********* cocktail.

Jesus I'm retarded. It took me until literally right now to realize that because the front diff is integrated into the trans on my 04 WRX 5mt, I don't have a separate front diff that needs an oil change. I blame it on too many years playing with trucks.

Amsoil MTG 75w90 crew checking in.

It's not your injectors, it's your exhaust valves.

What? Why?

I had a misfire on cylinder 2 (I think...) then when I switched the injectors to see if that was the issue, the misfire went away and has not been back since. I figured I must have knocked some dirt loose when I swapped them, so that is why I want to have them cleaned.

I skipped the water pump, as I was short on cash when I did the timing belt. I got sort of a mixed feeling on the LGT forum as to whether it was necessary at 100k miles, so I decided to skip it and save a billion dollars.

Both my '05 obxt and my brother's '05 lgt had misfire on #2. Both were cracked exhaust valves. Both around 100k.

PO was religious with maintainence at the dealer, swapped, cleaned injectors and ran a bunch of BG stuff thru the tank at the dealer. Was completely up front with me about the recent misfire codes when I bought it...codes weren't there when I bought it but he was honest. A few thousand miles later the code came back....would go away after some fuel cleaner but I decided to do a compression check and was 90psi on cyl 2.

EDIT: actually I think my brother's was the opposite bank, but same symptoms and same crack thru the valve head.

I only say that because subaru's are really finicky cars, and when you skimp on maintenance they tend to become nightmares.

But who knows. Last handful of kids that brought me theirs with a ton of problems all stemmed from not doing maint, cause they thought everyone else was an idiot for spending lots of money on it. They drove away with a couple thou worth of repairs. They are not like miata's where you can literally drive the car for 300k and into the ground and just kinda ignore it.

Good luck though.

The water pump costs a grand total of like $60 and you'll cry if you end up having to do it without also doing the timing belt.
