Given no suggestions from the mt.net peanut gallery, we went with a Parisian friend of mines recommendation this evening and went to Yuman.

I had the lamb, which was delicious as one might expect 😃

Brain, what is the closer kebab resting on?

Tonight I am going to try an experiment on my family.
Well my wife anyway. Because a sub-4 year old would have no idea.

I'm going to make a copycat recipe of taco bells "taco meat" and "hot sauce" to see what she says.

Now it might be hard because she's a legit food policy person and really eschews fast food from her life (mostly) but she does have suburban and lower middle class roots and has eaten lots of crap as a kid so there's that. Plus her mom's most recent job was, in fact, AT a taco bell.

Bottom line, I D G A F if she figures it out. I think it'll be fun.

Sauce (and I do mean source):

Perez edit: I assume you mean this: http://www.topsecretrecipes.com/Taco Bell Mild Border Sauce Copycat Recipe

Make sure you find the lowest grade meat available and then throw dirt in it.

Serious question:

Why are you attempting to clone a Taco Bell taco?

I think you miss the point of recreating food from restaurants at home.

For the ***** and giggles. But definitely for less ***** than the real deal.

Like ... who doesn't crave that mcdonalds cheeseburger and fries taste? But maybe without all the shitty ingredients and preservatives.

Anyway, she enjoyed the burritos and was confused why I made so much hot sauce for them.

My taco meat is better and less bland/dry but I enjoy a good (social) experiment.

Stuffed, marinated eggplant. Because it's getting cold, it's hard to start fermentation process at room temperature, so marinating is the next best thing.

Stuffing - pan fried onions, bell peppers and carrots in sunflower oil with dill, cilantro and garlic..... Oh, and of course roasted potatoes with crushed black pepper and sea salt !!!
