I don't repond well to the constant threat of termination, client sharking, sabotage from my coworkers, and don't like screwing people over as hard as possible. I lasted about 1-year there until I missed a 1 sale, not the quota, and was terminated on spot because the tower thought I didn't pressure enough. That and a couple other sales jobs had me so stressed out that I was really considering suicide. There were days I'd get the gun out, hold it to my head in the mirror and ask myself if I could do it. Those weren't the happy days, lol.

She's looking at a PhD in economics. After a couple publishing's she can start her "expert witness" contracting for attorneys and possibly make some cash.

 

It's still a religious concept and we don't want to be legally tied for each other. she and I like being able to leave if it's not working.

 

I disagree with about everything you said on the marriage thing. But anyways, do you think you could squeeze into this if that is enough money for you? I think you might even be able to get the GS-09 position.

Gs-14 is where it's at.

Yeah, don't get me started on the GS-14 lap-dog crew. I do their budgets, hiring selection, congressional correspondence, training madates, personnel reviews...I really don't know what these guys do aside from provide a liability buffer between the politicians and the people smart enough to see through the bullshit.

 

Weird. I can't imagine moving hundreds of miles and changing my life for someone who wants to retain the right to walk away if things aren't working. Or, for that matter, someone from whom I want to retain the right to walk away if things aren't working.

new here, don't know you well, so please take my comments with a grain of salt. Been with my current wife 9 years. We've moved together and separate several times in that span.

From the outside looking in you have several distinct problems that you are grouping together. While yes, they are not all mutually exclusive, they should most likely be handled and worked through individually. What I mean is you have your job situation and your woman situation. At this point you seem to be tieing the success of both of those together. That will put a tremendous amount of stress on your relationship.

So yeah, it's easy to say that from my pov in comparison to living the reality of it. I'd go long distance for a while and slowly sort out the job situation. That way you can test out the relationship strength without linking significant parts of your life in the success of said relationship.

If we have done something bad in the past, it can make us feel guilty, therefore we are not at peace. Or if we look to the future for someone to die, or something that also can make us feel sad and depressed, again we are not at peace.

Living in the present takes away those emotions such as sadness, depression, anger, fear, aggression, hate. A Jedi should do their best to keep the peace wherever they go.

 

Dallas sucks, so move to Houston. Seriously though, based on what you have said in the past you have no real financial obligation right now, so it is just whether or not you want to over whether or not you should. You need to be in a job that you enjoy regardless of whether or not you stay in Dallas.

I will help you out all I can if you do decide to come down here. If you need a place to work on your car, then my back garage is open to you. Need to store it for a few months, then I can make room at the shop. Anything I can do to make your decision any easier let me know. I don't have much expirience in the way of apartments near Rice, but I know the area right around that can be crazy expensive and by Houston Baptist it can be a lot better.

 

Not all sales jobs are like that. Ask me how I know. Many offer a lot of freedom. You can always get fired bu there are a shitload of sales jobs out there.

If GF is best of the best or at least pretty good World Bank or IMF loves economists with PhDs. Ask me how I know that too haha.
