My father-in-law is dying. Bowel cancer, which he almost beat, but after fighting for 8+ years, it has finally gotten the upper hand. They've given him less than 6 weeks, max.

I've been waiting for that call myself off and on for the last few years. Both of my wife's parents have had various battles with Cancer over the last few years, but have managed to pull through although the frequency has increased and the latest news was that it had spread to the hip bone. MIL was a Hiroshima survivor, FIL was a Nagasaki survivor and they're still kicking around though, and both approaching 80 so they've survived quite a bit.

His hospital's web filter blocked it, so I tried sending a note about it with the link removed and "OTC Lipitor" in the text. That was blocked, so I sent it with "OTC L-word" instead of Lipitor and it went through.

Apparently, his bosses don't want him discussing drugs with his patients via e-mail.
