blowing up wrx diffs? huh? this is news to me
newer wrx diffs are open iirc, front one is like 5x stronger than the trans and almost impossible to blow, middle and rear just direct power to least grip wheel and also don't really break much. maybe I'm behind on the times

All 3 are open. I believe they use "torque vectoring," ie the brakes, to act like an LSD.

EDIT: Some are saying viscous center diff, open f/r.

DOUBLE EDIT: Found the Subaru PDF:

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, two types: with 6-speed manual, Continuous AWD uses viscous coupling locking center differential; with Sport Lineartronic™ automatic, Variable Torque Distribution AWD uses planetary gear-type center differential and an electronically controlled hydraulic transfer clutch
Active Torque Vectoring

Synergy.. PLEASE make your motor bolt up to the ND Miata! 11,800rpm 362hp V8 - MX-5 Miata Forum

Yeah. Sure. Ok.

Didn't DP use some hyabusa based v8? I wonder what the cost of that thing was.

I dream of putting something like that in my 9th gen si, and making rwd. Screw that, awd, since I'll be chopping up the chassis. Put a big wing on the back. It's blue, so some gold wheels. You know, make it look like this:

That sounds like quite nearly the worst idea I've ever heard of.

Sarcasm / joke. In the same realm as a 50k motor.

Whew, i was worried about you for a minute there.

Sad thing is, I've heard people say batshit stupid stuff like that, but completely serious. People like that make me not want to live on this planet anymore.

I was ruined this weekend. A buddy of mine took me out in his 650whp GT-R.

1.2G on launch on the street, on the stock tires. It's like a 1000cc sport bike with back seats. It was insane.

I may just have to go straight for a C6 Z06 next year.

This is the general consensus from what I've read. I've always had a soft spot for bug wagons and the baja.

They are silly fast.
But how does that make you want a vette? lol
Those two are like polar opposites of each other. (and as you can tell, I am biased more towards the vette )

Because it's probably the fastest, stock street car I can afford.

I'm not a 5%, I couldn't afford a GT-R unless I won the lottery, but since I don't buy tickets......

As you guys can tell, I have car ADD. The same friend that took me for the ride pointed out the company in OKC that tuned his GT-R (Speed By Design) also sells a very affordable turbo kit for my car. Basically $4600 installed with their modded new OEM oil pan and oil cooler.

But I won't be making any moves until I see what happens at work over the next few months. Rumors of lay-offs, and even though I'm the only one who does my job in the company, still makes a guy a bit nervous.
