Went out this morning to de-ice the non-Miata I was going to drive to work today with warm water. The ice was melting but I wanted to scrape off the big pieces so it would clear faster. I remembered the scraper was in the Miata.

SOOOOOO....

I popped open the passenger side door of the Miata, grabbed the scraper, and then without even thinking, swung it shut. When the door closed, the top corner of the window cracked in a neat little diagonal line, just like a dog-eared page in a book.

I hope all the upper management for my company are in a van and it gets wrapped around a tree because they hit an ice patch. As some of you know, we got some bad shit here in Atlanta. Well today we were "open" so if you couldn't make it in, you have to take PTO or an unpaid day. This is because they're such cheap pieces of shit that run the company, they know if they have to "close" for a day, that they have to pay everyone...so they'd rather say everything is fine and dandy to keep it "open". But here is where it gets kinda funny. The Georgia Department of Transportation has said "do not drive ANYWHERE". All of the interstates are clogges up with jack-knifed trucks and this stopped the DOT from clearing the roads. Everything has gone downhill since noon on Monday. Georgia has declared a state of emergency. The police have shut all major interstates down and various areas...including all around my house. Yes these fuckstick shitheads send out a message stating that "the office will be open tomorrow and you are expected to be at work. If you local conditions are such that you can, you must make arrangements with your manager. The forecast is calling for more ice overnight but with the temperatures warming up and the sun coming out and traffic on the roads tomorrow, you should be able to make it in". God damn I just want to strangle the fuckers that make these decisions. The news, the state, the police the DOT and even my fucking bird are all saying that everything is getting WORSE. The malls are closed, grocery stores are open limited hours, NOTHING is open.....and these shitsticks have the audacity to tell us there is no reason we can't go to work tomorrow. I can't wait to find another jo...bet your asses that I'll send out a mass e-mail calling out the biggies in Denver and Atlanta and how stupid and cheap they are.

I walked my happy ass to work.....again. Steel-toe boots :ne: comfortable walking attire....but my feet were mostly dry when I got here...with the exception of the popped blister on my right heel. Now my shoes and socks are off and drying from all the sweat.

I've worn mine daily for so many years now that the steel has been exposed on both feet and the treads are almost completly flat. I love them though.

Nah, they're just cheap boots...nothing quality. I think I got them for like $30 just to work a forklift job years ago that required slip resistant and steel toes.

:vash: Now I'm becoming worried. I'm 5 days into my recovery and I'm still finding blood in my urine, which is somewhat non typical. Usually bleeding goes away within the first 2-3, sometimes 4 days. Though it is light bleeding, it's still blood. Perhaps there were complications. No outward signs of infection, no chills or anything like that. Not sure if I should call my doctor, or if I should just watch that it further improves and doesn't get worse and just wait for my follow up Thursday.
