:austin:
I think a lot of people are already making phone calls behind the backs of those who run the current campaign trying to set up whatever is going to replace the current republican party.

Hint: it wont be the radical christians or anything like em. It needs to be more true to the political ideology of republican. they need to take a page out of the book of libertarian. That would be a strong party.

Koto, without a true absolute basis for a tax structure, it's all relative anyway. We can only say taxes can be higher or lower, but what's the right amount? Somewhere between "i'm happy to pay this much" and "goddam uncle sam!". It's different for everyone.

Realistically, I care very little about the difference in either of their tax structures. I dont find that having an extra $100 a month more or less significantly affects my life as much as, say, having to sew a canadian flag on my luggage or wondering if big brother is listening in on my calls. Or worrying about the environment. Money is a pretty trivial concept in the whole scheme of the way I live. Sure it's fun to spend, but it's not where I derive my true happiness.

Not to mention I've lost a lot more money recently in the market than the difference between a McCain tax and Obama tax.

True the EC is dumb, but the populous is definitely dumber. Hence why it exists. But that's why I gave my poll numbers by state. popular numbers dont matter if states aren't won.

I vote for economic stability and whoever will give me monthly 100,000 dollar installments after they use a brilliant plan to get us out of our perpetuating debt. Looks like I'll have to wait a few elections and smoke way more peyote with the politically-connected.

P.S. I like your festive gord, Koto.

Y8s last comment to me about Obama and his Church Attendance.. No, Touching an AIDS infected person doesn't infect you... However I Honestly believe sitting in that environment for twenty freaking years WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND/VIEWS! Any man with a brain cell in his head who didn't believe the **** that came from that mans mouth would have stood up and left. If I heard that trash come from my Pastors mouth I'd be gone. Yet, Obama is best friends with the man!

"Mark my Words.. Mark my words.. It will not be Six months before the world Tests Barack Obama."

Oh, like a Dirty Bomb in NYC? Backpack Thermonuclear weapon?

I still ask you, what exactly makes him so overly qualified to be President? The 1.25 years in the Senate, or his 2 years campaigning?? His VAST Experience in Foreign policy? Plans to Redistribute wealth? And Yes, I believe he REALLY will pull a "Robin Hood" to the country. Once again, his numerous Present votes in Senate? Ten+ Years of "Community Organizer?"

Community organizing is a process by which people living in proximity to each other are brought together by an organization to act in their common self-interest. Community organizers may act as area-wide coordinators of programs for different agencies in an attempt to meet community needs for various services. Community organizers may work actively, as do other types of social workers, in community councils of social agencies and in community-action groups. At times the role of community organizers overlaps that of the social planners.
SHOCKING! That right there means he should be President! Go Obama!

A reply to your comment about my previous statement of the "Present" vote;

Since when do bills Senate vote on contain two different options? Last time I checked, ballots don't look like this:

"What shall we do to Syria?"
"A. Bomb them."
"B. Invade them."
"C. Present."

Last I checked it was more like, "Shall we invade and bomb Syria?" and the only options were "Ya. Nay. And PRESENT."

While voting PRESENT might look like you're against both ideas... that sends a pretty fucked up signal to me on my specific question. "See, I'm not for invading and bombing Syria, just bombing them.. so Instead of voting Yes or no, I'll just put Present." See what I'm saying? Before pressing submit to this, I went back over a ton of bills Obama has voted "Present" on, none of them were setup with different options like posted above for different resolutions; They were yes, no, or "Present."

For what its worth I believe John McCain will make a completely Terrible president, and I voted for him. In my heart I truly believe that if Barack Obama is placed in the White House we will no longer BE a country.

On a completely and totally unrelated note... I find it mildly ironic how so many people think GWB is a complete moron because he can't speak publicly... Yet, nobody has bothered to mention that Obama can't speak for ****;

Allow me to be the devils advocate here,

In so called "socialist" countries like Sweden and Norway (high taxes, welfare state) statistically they have not only more usable income but generally happier populaces.

Discuss.

If the electoral college did not exist, usualy the large, urban popultion centers would decide the election every time. Los angeles, New york... im too drunk to come up with any more...

or if it was done according to state election results where each state was equal, we would have a bunch of small town bumkins who refuse to see anything beyond their own lives, controlling the electon every time.

If you want to do away with the electoral college, we are also going to have to do away with two party govt.

Nobody will ever be okay with the large urban centers controlling the vote completely(read, always voting democrat), or rural areas conrolling the election. The electoral college introduces a sort of balance and purpose to canidates stratagies, forcing them to include both urban and rural voters in a succesfull bid for the presidency. The only way around this that I can see is to introduce some other parties into the mix, but we all know thats not going to happen, so, I do not think that getting rid of the electoral college would serve us that well as a nation right now.

John McCain was small potatoes in the dates he spoke of such tax cuts in that video. Today he's running for President so he's going to say whatever will get more votes.

0% flat tax all the way.

Making the pumpkins is pretty easy. You have to do a lot of digging to find good stencils online that people don't expect you to pay for, then transfer the image to the gourd, then carve. I use a combination of those tiny orange saws and chisels, tried a dremel once but that gets orange dust everywhere. For the ones with more "shading" like Dr. Evil, it helps to have a pic of the source image nearby when you're carving, because you usually destroy the stencil during the transfer. The Mike Meyers one was my first attempt, it looked okay in person but I should've gone deeper with the relief cuts, not enough light showing through.

A little trivia. Name the last President to be elected DIRECTLY from the Senate or House? A Senator that was a Veep does not count.

I don't buy the polls. They are usually taken in high Liberal areas. Such as universities and so on. The media is biased towards the Democrats so they will use demographics to dictate the polls.

I will vote for the person that I feel can protect our country's interest the best. All the rest is lame. All empty promises. Neither one of them can change health care, reverse Roe v Wade, give us a new energy source, and so on. If we have economist that cant figure out the global economy, you think that those two guys can figure it out? Not hardly. If you honestly believe that they can, then.....Face it, both the candidates suck. Just go with the lesser of two evils.

Anyway.

Koto those lanterns are hella dope. The Dr Evil is awesome. You have some serious artistic pumpkin carving skills. Your kids will love you.
