How much lower can they take the socialist policy that they are proposing?

It was $250K. Already it's down to $200K and the election isn't even over yet.

You forgot to mention

"But not to be outdone, Obama’s vice presidential running mate Joe Biden dropped the threshold of those who should be taxed more even lower to $150,000. "

Where will it stop?

This is not to say that I agree with the Republicans' choice (notice I didn't say "our" choice) for President. I disagree with the Republicans on more issues than I disagree with the Democrats on, actually. But I do think that people should take ownership of their own lives.

You know who's not contributing but getting the bulk of thoes handouts that hurt our economy so much?

It's our parents and grandparents.

I don't begrudge people getting their SOC. I wan't mine too. They should have every penny of it.

The only reason it is going to crap is:

The GOV thinks it is a pocket book they can play from. If I pay my electric bill and cable out of my 401K every month. I bet the 401K will suck in 30 years. But if I let it grow and grow in a normal economy. It will be there for me.

They like to pay for illegal immigrants hospital bills with our SOC................................. and then when we need a tooth pulled. Oh- you should of had insurance. They sell pliers at walmart.

Washington is broken.

i can't respond to most of this from work obviously (like watch elesjuans fiddy videos) but those are some awesome pumpkins. you must love pumpkins. and I didnt post jenn's pumpkins because nobody here cares.

my biggest problem with absolute total deregulation is that I dont trust big companies to do the right thing. or people for that matter. Enron? Bear Stearns? lets ruin a huge economy for fun yay!

I wouldn't latch on to specifics of tax breaks during a campaign. both sides use numbers as talking points, not policy. Joe the plumber is still not rich in any of the above cases. Any candidate who keeps every promise he makes the day he starts campaigning is a fool. No president makes decisions without research and advice.

Number one, no potential president would get this far without being incredibly bland and interested in furthering the current state of affairs. No one truly radical will ever get elected. Secondly, we've seen how much more efficient private business is than government. The government is beholden to the people, corporations are beholden to their shareholders. That's a serious conflict of interest when corporations are hired to do the jobs goverment used to do.

i'm just tired of the bullshit spread around by the right wing crazies and even more tired of the party letting it continue (and feeding it). you and I both know obama's not a communist, marxist, socialist, or whatever flavor of the week they claim.

The rest are solidly blue or red and available on pollster.com's website. It's worth a look regardless of who you vote for.
Ummm have you listened to your guy discussing "economic justice" and how to best implement it... Sounded like a socialist to me!

I'm afraid a democracy needs some "socialism" to function properly. Especially considering the government exists for the people in the first place. If you make it hard for 75% of the nation to buy what they need, don't be surprised when they turn around and vote for tax breaks for the lower classes.

I still dont understand what exactly the fear of "socialism" is during this campaign. Like saying a 25% income tax is not socialist and a 27% income tax is socialist?? It's all bullshit campaign rhetoric.

Again I'll say if you wave a flag and insult someone's masculinity that's enough reason to convince most people of anything.

The problem people don't realize with jacking the major companies taxes up is that THEY are NOT going to pay the taxes. WE WILL, there's no questioning that, anyone that thinks big companies are going to suck it up and lose there profits because of a tax hike is a moron.

What we need to start finding a way to regulate it the gas prices. If we FORCE gas to under $2 a gallon the economy will be straightened out in no time, I'm pretty sure of it. Of course the food prices and other prices that skyrocketed WITH the gas prices should also come back down now that gas has, btu you know that sure as hell isn't going to happen either.

To be honest, my answer is a selfish one as I fall into the affected income bracket (the new one, not the 250K one). I think that I already pay enough taxes. On top of that, I donate a pretty good amount of money to charities that I choose-not someone else. So, yes, I am anti-Obama and anti-socialist policies. You might not like my answer, but it is an honest one.

You'll never see your social security.

Social security wasn't supposed to be a retirement plan.

The problem aside from gross mismanagement, is your grandma and mine are taking out way more than they ever put into the system. Peple are living longer, and are using it as a retirement fund.

Take a look at the actual numbers, I personally don't give a **** about illegal immigrants, that's such a small fraction of money compared to what we spend on SS, medicare, and medicaid.

Well 37% of every check I make goes to the uncle sam. Then I get to pay tax on everything I buy. And then I pay taxes on every service I use. They need to tighten up and be able to prove where every dollar goes. And gass and food lowering would change everything.

But when will that happen. LOL

You can't get an answer to something that's not based on anything coherent.

We will never see ours. And it actually was started as a retirment plan so that all americans will have some sort of retirement.

I don't give a crap about immigrants either. But only families that pay in should be able to draw out.
I work in a hospital, and we always have 2 or 3 illegal people drawing thousands of dollars a week, for months. And when they leave the facility they will be back in 3- 6 months. They shouldn't be able to touch our SS.

They don't give me a free pass. They would take everything I have.

Money builds, but if you take from it. It can't build. And you should only be able to take what you have built up. Just like 401K.

Another thought. what about all the people that pay in and die early. ALOT of people die before their 60's. They usually have paid in for years.

We are just screwed. I hate paying SS.
