Rock River Predator HP

Anyone have anything to say about these as far as quality or which you would buy and why?

This might help you out a little Dave... I've seen good reviews of the LR and RR. Still like my AR10, but a nasty-dirty bitch when suppressed. Just cough up the cash and get a SCAR or DSA - pistons rock. Wish I never sold my SA58.

naysayers of Glock Reliability.. Beware.. lol

Why would anyone do that to their gun? Isn't the idea to take care of it so it do need it, it won't fail?

All these flash mobs I keep reading about made me start reading this thread...

Correct. What he's proven is nothing new, just another demonstration that you could do nearly anything to a glock and it will continue to function with very little care. Basically the Soviet AK-47 of hand guns when it comes to operational reliability. .

Someone posted this on a local weapons board:

Perhaps, but there was a time when I brought my Glock 17 home from the range after a few hundred rounds and put it away without cleaning. I forgot about it for a few weeks and then decided to take it to the range again.

It jammed. Ramp to the chamber had enough crud on it(thin and nonslippery) that it kept the rounds from feeding.

Granted, if I had dipped the whole thing in water or mud it probably would have started firing OK, but I didn't and so it didn't.

Just cleaning the ramp was sufficient, but it would have been embarrassing had it been somewhere but the range.

The issues with proprietary magazines and perceived availability of them will likely be my reason for just sticking with an M1A. Besides, I'm already more than familiar with the M14/M1A serious of rifles because I grew up with them (my old man used them in the 60s while in the Army and can still break one down blindfolded) and I own three already myself, as well as countless magazines.

Just ordered this in walnut:

Unfortunately I won't be able to shoot it as much as I shot my NM when I first got it due to ammo prices (.308 battle packs were like $55 back then).

Why so many M14/M1A's? The M1A looks good in walnut btw.

I like them. My dad's a fucking purist and for awhile wouldn't let me experiment with anything but. With his personal M1A, I've seen him shoot pennies at 500 yards.

putting up with some baby back bullshit right now over this rifle, the gun store decided to try to screw me out of $150, despite a 30+ year relationship between them and my family.

elesjuan 08-13-2011 01:45 AM

Tell them to shove it and go elsewhere? Sucks.

I love these fucking internet operators.

Anytime somebody posts something up for sale they have to include some fagg0ty picture like this of their shit. :jerkit:

Are you really going to ask me what brand my AR-style rifle is? It's a goddamn Colt.

It uses these magazines:
