I buy the Winchester 36 grain plated hollow points from Cabelas. That's the most reliable cycling .22lr round I've found for the price, I buy them in bricks of 525rds for typically $14.00 or sometimes less. The brick I shot off today was on major sale (might've even been marked wrong) and paid $9.99 for it. The point is to load up my magazine and shoot the shit out of my rifles all day long and not blow my wallet away. Accuracy? Did it hit the steel plate I was shooting at? Yahtzee! Fact of the matter is, I'm shooting .22LR slugs from ~.224" bore which isn't going to be the most accurate thing in the world.

If I want match grade ammo I'll load my own .223. For the record though, the 300 meter shots were some Herter's Rooski .223 not quality made or hand loaded, certainly not .22lr. Yes I tried .22lr at 300 meter.. Managed to make some dust somewhere close to the steel plates I was firing at...

You bastard! You got my hopes up for good $14.00 ammo and the website says it is $21.99 (before taxes and shipping). Damn!

FWIW, I have five weapons in .22LR but I primarily shoot two of them. My Ruger 10/22 LOVES the cheap ass Thunderbolt ammo but my Walther P22 hates it. My P22 loves Remington bulk ammo but the rifle doesn't. I've had different results with different batches of ammo to so I just buy a lot of several different kinds and try them all.

In case someone had never been to the site - You can visit gun-deals.com and find good deals on ammo. For .22LR there are 150 deals currently listed. Sort by cost per round (CPR) and you will find what you are looking for. Right now Federal Champion .22LR is 3.8 cents per round. I've used this stuff quite a bit and generally make it through a few hundred rounds without having any problems on my pawnshop 10/22.

your P22, try remington gold. I had a walther P22 once, it seems to be very touchy to the ammo you put through it. I have had the best success with the remington gold over the CCI I usually buy in 100 packs.

Problems I see with the rifle you linked:

Stock looks like a cheese dick POS
Permanently attached muzzle brake means no suppressor
Flat out UGLY.. Sorry, just my opinion. Maybe without the stupid vertical forward it wouldn't be too bad..

After they're bent into shape the price starts about $100.00 because then it's a "gun." I mention this because you seem like a do-it-yourselfer. Youtube it, there are some pretty effing retarded people who seem to accomplish it.

"Parts rifles" I've seen sell for low as $150.00. BATF does not allow the importation of "Assault weapons" anymore. The receivers are to be destroyed in a manor which could not be repaired. Honestly, considering many of them are "full auto" to begin with.. Well, you get the idea. Sadly in recent years the Nazi's at BATF decided "demilling" the receiver wasn't good enough for importation, now the barrel has to be destroyed. This causes parts kits with good barrels harder to find, sometimes more expensive. New US barrels can be had for little as $99.00.

In theory, IF you were lucky.. Its possible to build a complete AK for less than $200.00.. The price will increase on that if you'd like to remain out of jail, so ordering 922r compliant parts is probably a good idea.

After you read the above quotation it should have occurred there is yet ANOTHER option to acquire an AK. Saiga "sporter" rifles are imported and exempt from 922r compliance because they're not "assault weapons" as per the BATF Nazis. No pistol grip, no "high capacity magazine," etc. These rifles can be had for $3 - $400.00 now days- 6 years ago they were 189 effing dollars. Go Liberals! Perfectly legal to buy a Saiga Sporter to convert into an "assault weapon" long as you stay 922r compliant.

Thing I don't like about Cabelas is their ammo prices are worse than the U.S. Dollar in value fluctuation. Typically make 2 trips a week there and the next time they've got bulk .22lr on the cheap I'll buy extra for you.

I've always wondered why small engine manufactures can't put real fucking mufflers on engines. Honestly I'm a little disappointed in the amount of noise still present from the machine not coming from the exhaust pipe. Now you just need to add a turbo. :)

Just got another flier in the mail today from them. Last week's bargain I saw was a Savage 350 Defender pump 12 gauge, 18.5" bbl, ghost ring sights. $219.00.

Today's ad shows an H&R Pump "870 clone" 28 inch bbl 12 gauge for $169. Seems most places around here sell those for almost identical prices to 870s. Have read several positive reviews on it, not sure I'd buy one. Liked the Savage better, myself.

Ammo deal of the advert is Sellier and Bellot 115gr FMJ for $9.99 per box of 50. They ran that same sale about 3 weeks ago and stupidly only bought 3 boxes. Glad to see it again, I'll be buying 5 or 6 tomorrow.

Also shows they're selling the Bull Barrel Mark III 22/45 for $309, comes with 3 10 round magazines and a "ruger rug" (LOL!). Funny enough this item is a "sale" price, yet you can go into Bass Pro and buy the same thing for $279.99 as of last week, regular price.

The P22 has some serious quality and design issues when they were first released. The later production guns have been A LOT better.

I've got one of the newer guns (2009?) but I took it apart the day I bought it to do the bible mods. I found it very interesting that the gun already had some gouging in it from the test fire they did at the factory. Anyway, the gun has been completely gone through and polished. Can't get any better than what it is now (which is pretty good).

Admittedly, I like the Sons of Guns show. The content might be poorly scripted, the acting might be terrible, the daughter is really fucking annoying, and the Kris guy is like a bull in a china shop.. What I believe the intention of the show appears to be working, they've got like 12 million fans. I feel it might give a more positive impression to the general ignorant public about firearms, which I appreciate.

Had a really slow day and decided to spend 20 minutes cruising manufacturers websites for parts of this rifle and this is what I came up with. Aside some very minor parts (delta pack and other small parts) this is a duplicate of the rifle shown for sale by the shop:

The group of parts I came up with would involve installing ejection port cover, the barrel on the upper receiver, checking headspace, installing hand guard, attach the light rail and sling stud to the hand guard, install rear sight, stroke your cock with the bolt carrier group, place in rifle with charging handle, place upper receiver assembly on the lower receiver assembly (which is already 100% ready to rock out of the box.. no assy required) insert magazine and let it rip.
