I am speechless. Wow

I love the hand on the a-pillar. Epic
|
That dood needs to start (over) at the bottom with an instructor.
|
And stoopid enough to put the evidence on YouTube for the world to see.
|
I've gotta say, it says something about the complacency of the chassis setup. I counted about a dozen mini-spins that would've pitched a lot of other track cars into an uncontrollable spin. Kudos to the Porsche team. Wonder if that's an TCS/SCS system.
|
my goodness. Guy is so clueless! keeps resting his arm on the doorsill? grabbing the freaking A-pillar? "JESUS TAKE THE WHEEEEEEEELLL!!"

Is that a PCA event?

I should of held my line. But welcome to the world of understeering WRX. First race of the day. Car in front missed a gear. I snuck down the inside, saw the WRX and went as wide as I could. Broke the tie rod and steering arm.
|
If the Subie would have hit his apex he wouldn't have wound up in the Miata's fender- nor would he have had understeer throughout the entire turn. Of course the Miata's line through the turn was far worse, putting him exactly where he needed to be for the Subie to nail him. If the Miata ran the line the Subie would've either had to follow him through the turn, or driven around the outside (which wasn't happening.) If you lead somebody into a turn, you don't give them the right of way.
|
Tryng like hell to pass this Boxster in a Miata before the end of the straight away...
|
Jesus christ I'd need underpants. I'm surprised he didn't move your mirror.
|
^^ Not Steve's video... but if it were, he'd be the one driving the vette - with a hand resting on the A-pillar, cruising back to his cooler of Dos Equis waiting for him on the paddock :)
That being said - I'd be pulling in the pits to wipe the shit off my ass. Reminds me of the video from VIR when the GT3 scares the hell out of him on the back straight - |
Here's a colossal asshat in a vette standing on the brakes in a 100mph corner when he sees a yellow flag.
First rule of flags is check your fucking mirrors for people behind you who might not see the flag yet. NASA Group C Accident Thunderhill April 2013 on Vimeo Do we know this Miata owner from this forum? |
|
This one isn't "bad" driving, but a bad choice of line that unsettled the car. This is a very fast sweeper, turn 8, at Roebling Road Raceway.
|
He's completely inside the pit lane at the start of the video. Fail.
|
Jump to 7:00.
The video is taken from inside a $600 beater miata gone ultra-cheap trackrat special. Ebay coilovers, almost completely used SM cast-off RA1's. The driver of the black corvette used to be CDI for the local Porsche club. |
I liked your "allergic to apexes" comment in the other thread. Horrible.

SCCA Spec Miata at Sebring this Sunday had a one lap dash to the finish after a series of yellows. Frustration and egos begat predictable asshattery.

What's that I hear about Porsche drivers? This is exactly what it looks like- and victim is freshly built IT Integra.
|
where did that Porsche even come from?
|
Directly behind him. Supposed bad qualifying had the Porsche pushing hard to the front on the first lap. Ya know- stuff like four wheels off in the grass and so on. I can't come up with a reasonable explanation for it.
Found this on a regional blog: The Acura Integra of Cliff Ira and the Porsche 944 of Shane Doles and Charles Coker had an incident at Turn 9. The car of Doles and Coker was disqualified for “Avoidable contact”. |

That's how I used to win in Gran Turismo!
|
I'm impressed. At :29 you can see that the driver saw him coming in his mirrors and avoided being the first punt-ee. Nice awareness.
|
|
... what in the world? How is that even possible? Seems like an amateur among pros, or a seriously messed up car.
|
when youre rich, nothing but skill will stop you.
|
That is what would happen if you let me on the track in that car... the difference is I KNOW this... he didn't seem to understand.

A vid from a trackday in the pouring rain a couple of years ago.. im driving my e92 bmw and beeing careful at the end of the straight because of accidents.. the guy in the audi tried to brake at the same place he would in the dry... on his first lap out in the wet. not even a tester lap to judge the level of grip(or lack thereof)

^ holy shit. that looks like a lot of fun.

OH TIM GOD DAMMIT I ended up crossing 5 lanes of road and hitting the drivers side rear corner on the concrete barrier. I had time to think about it and chose to take it on the corner rather than attempting to straiten the car out and possible wiping out the whole drivers side from front to back against the concrete if I had kept sliding. Words fail do describe. |
Dude in the s2000 doesnt even try to save it. It starts to oversteer and he just rides out out.
|
Does the s2000 guy not know how the steering wheel works?

Note to self: Avoid asshat in hipster glasses with fancy shift knob driving S2000 or Miata with non- Snell rated motorcycle helmet.
|
Is the helmet even buckled?
|
Looks like they were spinning on purpose to make video.
What track is that? Harris Hill? |

Based on one of their other videos: (it mentions Harris Hill on youtube) It's laughable that there's actually not too much difference between their wet vs. dry performance. |

If a guy canīt even buckle the helmet I suppose we cannot really expect much from it  |
Spinning on purpose as a demonstration would more likely be done with an experienced driver with a real helmet. Asshat may have possibly been doing it on purpose but I can't imagine wanting to risk rolling over with those sideways entries into the grass. And all of the dirt and crap entering the car is pretty stupid, too.
I vote for being stupid and dangerous, whether the spins were purposeful or not. |

Those driving skills are almost as laughable as what you pass of as a race track. Concrete slabs in a cornfield. No kerbs, armco/tire walls, marshalls, brake markers etc.

:dealwithit: BTW, no cornfields. Way too hot/dry to grow corn in TX. Those are Mesquite "trees." There's probably a steer/oil well/gas well out there somewhere too. |

Not that much asshattery...
Though attempting to follow a high-dollar Spec Miata at speed with my stock-suspension/14x6 ZII wearing/150k mile Miata was extremely stupid. And I could have sworn I straightened the wheel before leaving the pavement. :vash: |

Pretty sure those guys in the "s2000 vs Miata crash compilation 2013 trackdays - YouTube" video would have been black flagged quickly and booted out on their arse until they'd proven they could actually drive on a track here in Australia - nobody likes wasting their track time.
Steering around a track with one hand on the steering wheel? No wonder the S2000 guy just rode-out the spins. |
Yeah, any of those spins would be mandatory black flag here, too.
