Here it is, my JimStim. I tried most of the leads and they work, I dindt try the Iac2 or reverse polarity deal, the instructions on the site are a bit confusing and I dont want to fry it yet.

The stim looks ok, a little light on solder perhaps, but ok. Got a pic of the bottom?

Er, where is Serper? Until I finished his stim, he was totally on my nuts (not a pain, but certainly providing encouragement above and beyond the call of duty). Then I tell him it's all done, ask him if he wants it that day, or to wait another and wrap the harness adapter....

And *poof*, he's gone. From 3+ emails per day to three days without one, I wonder what's going on? And with a blackberry, you'd think email wouldn't be hard to stay on top of.

Well, whatever. If he doesn't want it, I'll swap if for my own, nasty one. And if I ever put AC back on the car, at least it'll work. :-)

Oh, as a feeler:
If I made an iteposer board, something of JBPerf (maker of the JimStim and Low-Z board) quality, would people want it? I guess it's only untill you've spent 3+ hours TRYING to make your harness adapter that you'd see the value.

Ideally, it would have all the mods on it (99+ ignition inputs, fully configurable - though default for my '99 set up - pinout, support for fans, ebc, vics, etc etc), and I'm looking at intgrating a knock sensor readout since it's stock on the '99, but I'm not sure on that last part yet.

Anyway, if something like that, bare board, were ~40-50 (don't know what my cost would be yet), would people be interested?

I figure some folks spend $100-200 on a boomslang, and this would take care of the straightforward-but-teedious ignition inputs... Maybe it would be worth it. I have some ideas on a parallel install board too, but am much less sure about developing that one since those installs are so picky.

Hey if Serper doesnt wants it send it to me, LOL ill put it to work and you will know you are helping a poor guy in Florida. BTW I caqn send you mine in exchange. Plenty of options.

I solder everything from the bottom of the board, thats why it looks like that on top.

I'm sure he wants it, my guess is he's just broke. Still, it's kinda weird, plus he said he'd set money aside for some sundries. I just feel bad since I thought he wanted to get it running this weekend.

If you want a harness, mods, etc, once you get the bulk of the MS built per the manual, let me know via PM

Abe: Build, and they will come. Had you sold an adapter thingy that was Guaranteed to read the stock inputs back in January I'd have bought it from you. After fighting MS2 to read my stock sensors for 2 weeks, it would have been a bargain at any price.

That's what I worry about - in hindsite, I don't think anyone would say no. But everyone coming in would think it was a f'ing rip off.

Well, I think I'll go forward with it, all I risk is a couple hundred bucks for a minimum order and some time. If I like it, I might even lose my harness. My only issue now is coming up with a decent knock sensing circuit.

I just hope no one hopes I'm stepping on any toes. It's not like I'll take down the info I've posted. I'm only feeling bad since I didn't think that other board was as good as it was.

Last thing I just want to thank abe for everything and let everyone know that he is awesome, was very responsive with emails and I would definately trust him with this and reccomend others to work with him in the future!

Heh, build it, leave the caps off. I don't even run them. You can always add them in later.

Come to think of it, since one side of those caps is connected to ground, you could put them in. The little "+" goes to not-ground. :-)

A parallel install would have worked 50 hours of research and effort ago

Interesting project man but I love going fast more then I love to tinker. All the tinkering has to lead to something, i prefer to get to that point as quickly as possible.

Parallel installs are a huge fat PITA, whenever anything goes wrong, you have no idea why! Of the people I personally know running parallel, most of them have either slowly weasled out of it due to a myraid of issues like engine skips, or rushed out because some system or other doesn't work entirely.

There's really no research to be done, anyway. It's all figured out. I'm hoping to have something basically S-PnP (Solder, plug, and play) ready soon.

But if you have a solution, wire for wire, and pin for pin, and circuit for circuit for a '99 parallel install, please post it! People will want to see it.
