i have increased fuel quite a bit and am holding an idle but it is VERY rough
and the air/fuel ratio is reading 19.1 so of course wayyyyy tooooo lean

how am i getting such a detailed reading without a wideband?
keep increasing?

sounds like you did the fuel pump circuit wrong.

do FP to high side driver in. Then HSD OUT to 1C.

highlight the entire VE fuel table and add 10 fuel points.

Fuel load is kPa. 97.8% = 97.8kPa = Atmospheric.

i ended up increasing by 20 and now have a steady idle of 960-1000 and the afr is jumping between 12-17
thats not good is it?
shouldnt it hold steady around 14-15?

should be able to fine tune it to hold 14-14.5:1 smoothly.

there are that many miata forums?
if i had known that i would have posted in them all to get maximum results.
obvious sarcasm

sry about that
and thanks for putting up with me and for being such great help brain and shifty
i was just anxious to get this thing running
i followed everystep on the boostedmiata page

still working on a steady idle
not really understanding the EGO thing

got familiarized with tuner studio
my current situation still rough idle
and when under load (driving around my neighborhood SLOWLY AND GENTLY in 1st or second) it runs wayyy too lean. 17-19

im done for the day
glad i got it running
now its just time for some good old fashioned patience and reading

but if anyone wants to throw some tips/advice my way while im doing i wont complain

thanks again guys
jared

well now dont i feel like an idiot
i wasnt using ve analyzer cuz i didnt know what it was

i bought it and started driving
very slowly and cautiously at first and as my afr's got better my driving became more and more aggressive.

idles like crap cuz i let ve do that to (i read that you shouldnt) but she is safe to drive now. pedal to the metal and 7k shifts stays between 12.5-14

ill get the idle figured out later
i saw in one thread 18psi said he shut off closed loop fuel before 1200 rpm's
and got a real smooth idle like that
but i couldnt find closed loop fuel anywhere in tunerstudio
were is that at?

now that i got a safe tune its time to start browsing the forums as i learn more and more about the ms

i set my min rpm on the ve filters to 1200
sound good?

and my afrs so far are ok
they bounce quite a bit i think but they are safe
they stay in the range i specified above

all except when cruising
it goes real lean
like 17-20
thats in gear and barely on the throttle
for example cruising at 45 to 55 in fourth or fifth
its real lean
but when i let off the pedal in any gear it goes real lean

advice?

oh ok cool

so you are saying this situation is safe?

and the ego
is that what corrects the afr for different atmospheric conditions?

and ve is not really getting close to my afr goal table
it is rich

advice?

ok so i found the overrun settings
click extended then click over run
and according to that my over run is disabled

between 45-65 cruising in fourth or fifth the car runs VERY lean
sometimes even when i am lightly accelerating
but when i cruise at 70 the afr is real nice and steady 14-14.5

what do i do about this?
am i risking damage by driving?
