So 80-85 ft/lbs when hot ends up being too much? Or too little.

When hot, metal's expanded, when it gets cool it will shrink causing loose wheels.

Possibly too little. We have torqued hot occasionally in the past without issue even though it's the wrong way to do it. We're always learning..

Exactly.

Is the timing to torque the wheels just before going out for a session/race? That would be as close to cold as you can be.

Air dam is temporary. One piece Kevlar/FRP nose with integrated air dam almost ready. This car was built with polycarbonate windows.

Saturday sprint race, harassing some faster GTS BMW's. None of the other PT cars were anywhere close so I had to find someone else to play with. Broke two improperly torqued wheel studs just as I caught the BMW I had been chasing. Doh!

Lively in the carousel !

Really nice driving.

Some pics from testing at ACS last weekend. Nose and fenders are Kevlar/FRP. Not pretty but very low drag and generate a bit more downforce. The nose is rounded to get more air around the sides and less over the top. Even so, the nose seems to make the wing work better. My guess is there is less detached flow over the hood now so the air going over the roof stays a bit more attached. That in turn feeds the wing slightly higher pressure and more coherent air mass. The aero balance was good with this set up. We experimented a bit with diff set up and went backwards there however. We had a bit of power oversteer at small throttle openings and this car isn't making a lot of power.

It's a bit too low in front so we'll take about 3/4" off the depth and add quick release clamps so we can get it on and off in a hurry if needed.

Interesting. It does have a nascar look to it. Plans for a splitter at all on it? Side skirts + diffuser down the road?

Splitter optional for some events. No points left for skirts or diffuser.

Strange illusion, but the windscreen angle looks lower (to me) now...

Maybe you are fooling the air as well

Shield the side image with your hand and observe the two distinct different cars pre and post the door

God that is ugly, but very functional knowing who built it.
