Default NASA Thunderhill PTC May 19, 2012

Qualifying for Saturday PTC race, me driving. 2:01.5 or so.

We won TTC (time trial) with 11 other cars in class both days. No other competitors in PTC (sprint race). Leading E1 enduro with healthy margin with team driver Gordon Jennings behind the wheel when throttle shaft broke. It was a prepped, epoxied shaft which we have never had problems with. We have never run a motor in sprint races at 8500 rpm though and I think that's what did it. It doesn't make any useful power up there though so we'll bring the limiter down to 7800 and prep another TB.

Maybe you need to beat Goodwin with that bolt in TB, they were talking about last year or so, to the market.

Default June 23/24 2012 NASA at Buttonwillow

A few pics form the NASA 3hr enduro at Buttonwillow last weekend. Won TTC and PTC both days as well. Team driver Theo Coetzee did the entire 3hr enduro himself, "Ironman" style and won E1, finishing 4th overall.

In car video from Sunday's PTC race, first few laps. I got a gap and the second half of the race I eased off and went into cruise mode.

Tore the 4" splitter off in Friday practice. Trimmed the wing back one notch to keep it tight-ish for enduro then another notch down for sprint race to keep it free. It was still tight in the sprint race without the splitter.

Helps driver to keep from being blinded by lights of cars behind. The stills are of Theo in the enduro. 7:10pm - 11:10pm so roughly 2hrs at night.

I know you did, so you obviously "could" beat the rx8 but "should" you be able to beat an rx8?

1800cc N/aspirated versus 13b or whatever they are these days...?

Great videos, Nice driving!

You mean those awesome window slits from the 80's actually had a purpose? They were all born to do night races.

Northerner alert:
That's to keep the sun out, not racecar lights. See "TA with a bird on the hood".

Outstanding. I can't wait to see the whining on Viper and Vette boards.
