Yes, and if you get one that doesn't have a worn out lsd ($150 to rebuild) to can even do donuts.

Too bad I have to approve things with the lady first. I've almost convinced her of a LS400 as a comfy daily. Her 2001 civic is nice enough, but kind of always loved big body toyotas.

I don't think EWG changes things significantly as the exhaust pressure is in the exhaust not the waste gate. The waste gate would have significantly less flow through it than the exhaust no? Guess that depends on if you're running 5psi vs 20psi.

I don't think so. When you are spooling the gate should be closed anyways.

Would power be restricted once boost sets in, given the wastgate dumps externally?

Probably. The wastegate is for the exhaust bypassing the turbine wheel. So you still have more backpressure behind the turbine wheel.

Its all theoretical though. Try it out and let us know.

I will if I ever get this damn thing built...

I'm planning on having a shop reroute the EWG to the exhaust with a mini flex pipe though, so it won't be VTA.

It seems like 3" will always make more power, regardless of wastegate design. On turbo miatas is seems like a big deal to go 3", I mean this isn't apples to apples but FM posted this a few years ago of a 3 inch versus a stock exhaust, roughly ~400rpm better boost threshold and the obvious gains up top which are a 20% increase at peak HP and like 5% average increase under 3500rpm. Idk how much I trust something with such old tech as a direct example, so take that with a grain of salt.

here's what going from 2.25" to 3" did for me:

This is FM's chart for 2.5 vs 3 inch on their own setups.

I have had to start daily driving the miata. So I have had a 3rd gear crunch (even with the clutch depressed) and after a shifter bushing replace and new fluid, still there in full force. Bad synchros?

No information yet.

Been thinking of going to a K24 after Kmiata announced the transmission solution I have been wanting for a miata that doesn't involve 8 cylinders and changing the steering geometry. It is tempting since I have so many parts I can sell.

My best friend owns a BMW specialty shop in SoCal so locating a good trans is easy and I have a few Honda friends that say they can get me a clean 06-08 K24a2....

New EFR. $1200. K swap with BMW trans. ~$12-15k(ish?)

Not really apples to apples, would be cool though.

How'd you come up with the $15k number?
