Just found out this tyre won't be road legal in the UK ... can't see them selling many over here unfortunately. Time to move to the US then!!

Russell.

Whats the recommended power for a track Miata withe these on 9's or 10's? i.e. Are these too heavy for 130k mile NA engine with I/E/H? Or does the additional grip outweigh any weight increase coming from a Rival/Rs3?

For 245/40/15 that is...

Thanks!

Have they been doing any work on a lightweight rwd chassis under controlled testing?

15x10. For autocross, go for max width possible for a given tire compound, regardless of power. For track use, I think the car should have at least 220whp before 245's are considered.

Don't overthink it. Grip is grip.

205 RE-71R on an 8inch rim slower than the 245 VR-1 on a 10 inch rim?

The only people who know are waiting for the magazine to be published.

I am considering 245 on a 120 hp car for longevity. We go through a lot of front tires on the enduro cars (Mazda MX3s). Even if we lose a few tenths, the fact is, you don't get a lot of clean laps in an enduro, and tires are expensive.

Time trial or sprint would be completely different.

We're looking at booking a private track day at Atlanta Motorsports Park in April. That track is hard on tires and is all about momentum. I would like to try 205 vs 245 VR-1 and 205 Star Specs (our current Enduro tire). It doesn't hurt that Maxxis' GA warehouse is a couple miles from the shop. :)

I will leave you with this for the weekend. Flat roll front and rear, no pull clears fenders at full bump. Same inboard contact in front as 225/45 on 15x9's pretty much.

Beautiful! Is that tread backwards on the front wheel?

NA would require aggressive pull or flare still or similar expectations to the 15x9?

Mobius 03-26-2016 04:17 AM

Yes, the tread is backwards. Tires mounted for pics. Be less picky.

I haz a sad that these pics are essentially what my car would be this year had my car not met a pit wall (Emerald Green Mica NB), but NB 2.0 shall forge ahead !

Those are the Tungsten wheels correct?

Edit: from the badging I am assuming this is actually an '01 SE BRG car, and not an Emerald Mica car, with a TougeRun lip as I had on mine on the front. Still green, still looks good.

Just confirming because I'm that guy who would be an idiot to do this on accident. Be less a dick, thanks. <3
