That was probably from your adventures in wheel hopping, not from the power necessary for your 104mph trap speeds. :P

Its a miata. Wheelhop happens. Even when slipping the clutch sometimes the tires just blow off and bounce lol.

It's there not a way to fix hop on the miatas? You need to install my bearing thing, and go with delrin where you can.

I'm going to do some stuff over the winter to try and combat it.

PPF delete. Your bearing thing, wrinkle wall slicks.

Can I run delrin in the inner control arm bushings?

upper or lower? it kind of matters.
Upper - yes
Lower - Can be done, but alignment is difficult/impossible.

So upper delrin, lower poly? That might help.

I know real slicks will make a huge difference.

Every location in delrin except one lower inner.

Edit- and the upper knuckle of course

I really enjoy reading your thread among a bunch of others. My $0.02 worth: When you drag race, raise your ride height as high as you can get it at all 4 corners. Think weight transfer on launch and use your tires as the slip mechanism instead of the clutch.

Using tires as a slip mechanism just creates wheel hop. Thats why I have to slip the clutch.

If I dragged more I would change the ride height, but I don't want to mess up my alignments.

I was thinking of tires with less traction. But, yes, that's a lot work for the occasional drag.

I get just as much wheel hop with shitty tires. They spin until the rev limiter, then hop when they start to gain traction.

Basically Miata's suck as drag cars. I like going to the drag strip, and I'm going to bandaid the problem the best I can, but not at the expense of ruining my track car.

How big should the delrin be in relation to the sleeve? Like press fit? Does it need a sleeve inside where the bolt goes through?

They don't need to be greased right?

Do the sphericals need to be greased?
