******* hell yes. I finally caught my random die when let off the throttle condition in a log.
Please help. I upped the initial values by a ton to try and get it not to die, and most of the time it will drop to like 1200rpm. But randomly it will just drop to dead. Look at the AFRs wtf is going on??

Post msq. You have two problems. One, way too much timing at low RPM causing it to die. Two, RPM for starting condition looks to be too high too.

It's actually idle advance causing all the timing, only after the RPMS are way too low.
Timing were around 14-16 which isn't too high when RPMs fell like rock.
+/-10 degrees of idle advance range is bonkers, though. I have 2degrees +/- max.

I'll post an msq tomorrow, I'm just glad I finally caught it in a log, I've been trying for weeks.
Idle advance hasn't been changed from whatever basemap I'm running (**** if I remember).
Did the lost sync count increase as it died? Because a lot of times you will have a lost sync when cranking and if the count doesn't increase its not an issue.

IR tools you buy from norther or tractor supply can be noticeably different from ones you buy elsewhere. Its certainly true with their compressors, the two biggest HF ones are better than the similar versions of the IRs from TS and northern.

Home depot also sells downgraded versions of dewalt power tools, but the savings does move along.
You might find a different part number drill that uses the same batteries, charger and all that for $50 less at home depot, but it probably has plastic planetary gears or something.
And yeah, lost sync count right as it died. Mine is the same way, never a count before but only right as it dies which makes sense.

I've had one of those (HF brand) for years. Be forewarned, that HF tools are sometimes a project in themselves. Prepare yourself to have to tweak the thing to get decent cuts. And buy quality blades; the cheap ones are just lessons in frustration. Even HF sells good quality (American made) blades.

Be sure to check the oil in the gearbox. They are notorious for not having enough in there. I used straight up 90wt gear oil.
And you will most likely need a new blade. Supercut is the brand you want (if you buy at HF). I use Starrett blades, but I get them from bulk coils at work. Kinda pricy for home shop use.
