I checked my NA booster against the usual Centric 929 MC we all used about a year ago and it was fine. I still swapped it out for an MSM booster for the favorable ratio.

For reference I have a 96 with ABS, but I don't think the NA boosters changed ABS vs non ABS. Someone else may have more info on that than I do though.

 

See @bbundy's post a page back. He claims that it will bolt up but wont work because the pushrod wont be short enough. Did you actually use the NA booster? Or just bolt it up.

 

I bolted it up, but I know if at least one guy with a 94 running an NA booster with the 929 master.

EDIT AGAIN: Scrolled down to an older post and he was selling the 2002 booster, so it sounds like he used the NA ABS booster successfully.

I just finished installing a 1" MC into my '94 with ABS. Per the info in this thread, I picked up a booster from a 2002 non-ABS. Turns out I didn't need the booster. The one already in my car had the right interface including the recessed push rod and MC with O-ring instead of gasket. It's possible that a previous owner swapped in a different booster and MC, but I don't think that's the case.

Based on my experience, diagrams in my '94 FSM, and studying part numbers and photos of ABS and non-ABS MC's from various years, I've come to the conclusion (strong guess) that 94-97 and probably 99-00 Miatas with ABS are already equipped with a booster that will accept the 15/16" and 1" MC's discussed in this thread. I believe that the 94-00 ABS boosters are similar or identical to the 01+ non-ABS booster. They certainly look identical on the outside.

In any case, I'm pleased with the results. The pedal is hard and effort is increased. It might be increased too much for some people with otherwise OEM brake system, but I like it. I will be installing a MC brace though.

I used a 1" unit for 92-95 929 (Centric 130.45604.) I removed the MC and prop valve as a unit from the car. Bolted the prop valve bracket to the new MC and then fitted the hard lines between them. There's a banjo bolt on the rear OEM channel. I moved that to the front channel on the larger MC and the front hard line fit with just a little man handling. The rear channel hard line needs to be reshaped to fit.

I then bench bled the MC and prop valve as a unit before installing on the car. Doing it this way worked very well.

Except for the one hard line, it was a direct bolt in using the existing booster.

 

Sound like 94-97 ABS booster might work.

 

IIRC for the 949 master you need the non-MSM NB ABS "thick" booster. The rest of them have the wrong pushrod length. The MSM and all the sport NB masters should be 15/16 thats what I have.

 

From bbundys post all of the 01+ boosters work. I guess I'll bolt mine back together when I get home.

They're for the 3/8 lines. Idk whenever I people have talked about converting to AN they say it can't be done with NA lines, and you need the quick disconnect ones. Need to verify the pressure rating on my favorite brand of crack, if its 100psi then i'll be doing all AN fuel lines.

 

Really? can't understand why. Both styles of fitting should be good for way more than 50. Wtf is right.

 

Going to clarify with red horse when the holiday is over. They don't list a pressure rating. Also will need a little pipe cutter.

I'll have AN from fuel rail to FPR and thats it.

Whats the pressure rating for the standard NA fuel lines.
@Leafy I saw you posting in that thread. Did the thing like the FAB9 adapter not work?

 

So is it not possible to put an AN flare on the stock hard lines?

Are stock NA lines really 3/8? NB are 5/16.
