the bottom line is there's only 2 correct settings for the wga:
over tightened - for those that want dat torque and spool
just tight enough - for everyone else..who want it to spool as soon as it physically can and hold the boost to redline

anything less than the above and you still run into creep all the time, and have a terrible setup that is slow spooling and gay. basically the worst of both worlds

The only reason it hit 10psi is due to boost creep, not because the wastegate was closed Brainy. It should have gone no higher than 160ish kpa with how the wastegate was adjusted.
what's the wastegate rated for? 8psi?

It seems like there's a knee point at 8psi.

Hmm.

How conservative are we talking? Pic of Rev's basemap timing is enclosed. 'Cause my only issue is hitting boost cut head first - I ******* hate boost cut, jarring is an understatement.

Drop peak load columns to like 13-14, dial in fuel, then raise as needed.

Its not like no one has ever run over 10psi on a stock block before.

adjust the wga so its snug and not loose. achieve teh spoolz. work with the pressure level it ends up with. probably like 12-13. if it still overshoots then you just need to port your hole....yes I went there

I may give this a shot today if I get the opportunity. I'm already creeping to ~12psi (180kpa) by 5200rpm though, which worries me.

I'm thinking Leafy has the right of it, and I just need to grow a pair and port the sucker.

boost creep keeps the torque flat at redline!

I told you this many posts ago.

Also I doubt it will go past 12-13 after 5200.

Dyno time is friday the 12th @3:30PST.

Expect a dyno sheet to be posted shortly thereafter - or maybe even during!

Depending on the results, A 4828 should be ordered by noon on the 13th...

Not to threadjack, but I am still waiting on your spool data (compared to the 2560) before I pull the trigger. I am also wondering what boost level you are going to be running at to hit your target.

Ordered: FM piping, Dem big boy intercooler, FM tool set for easy work.

I had a surprise visitor today to keep me company with the car build! I have no idea what the heck it is, beyond some kind of weird lizard.

210rwtq, 241rwhp @ 165ish kpa (Double checked logs, yep)

Please remember that the operator/technician only hit >90% tps at around 2500rpm, so spools gonna be even more *** with what was discussed in this thread.

No such thing as tune or anything beyond Rev's basemap with some quick autotuning.

Also was very impressed with the shop. May go back there to actually properly tune it if I get around to building my engine.

Not bad at all, congrats man.

Looks like this sucker spools great even despite the 1.6fail, which makes it even more impressive.

Maybe I am confused, but my quick conversion of kpa to psi results in about 21psi. What was your wastegate set at?

....Somewhere around 10psi dude....

Subtract 100 from the figure given, then convert to psi for psi-equivalence.

Ahh, I have never done the calculations in KPA before so I didn't even know what I was looking at.
