Hmm... me thinks the top needs to fit your design style of the body? You can just give me that top and impreass us again by re-making something that more looks like a daytona prototype

I did my first track day in the red NB8B, it went well, and it was good to get back onto the track. I managed to get the 3rd fastest n/a time out of about 50 mx5's - 3/10ths of a second from 1st.
More pics of the c.f car.
I tried making the wheels wider, but the best i could do was increase there diameter.
I want to finish the doors, and then concentrate on getting the driveline in.

I went down to phillip island on sunday for the first round of the victorian super sprint. I decided to go into standard class, as i don't have many mods compared to what the modified class allows. So in the morning i went out on 15x7's and 2 year old starspecs. The car was slippery, and in 2 sessions the best i could do was a 2:01.7 in each session. So after having enough of driving a wet noodle, i bolted on my $80 ebay wing. Bolted on the 15x9's with 2 year old kumho v70's, and riveted on my canards. I also threw on the splitter/undertray for the full aero package. The car was transformed, for about 15 minutes work the car dropped down to 1:57.8. The front undertray got ripped off almost completely just before turn 1. I decided to keep going, and when i cam back in was amazed it was still on with only 3 bolts holding it on and the rest torn out.
Car after the event.
So i went back out without the splitter, and got my times downt to a 1:56.7. I was thinking it wasn't possible, but my goal was a 1:56.9, easily beat the dream time i set. So the splitter must have been working for it fold up like that. I will make a new one and brace/support it better. Other good news i am not doing any racing next month, instead - working on the c.f car.

Well the exhaust didn't get done, i had to pick it up and bring it home. And now i am doing it myself. It is almost finished, will get some pics up soon.
I did a track day at winton (about 2.5hrs north of melbourne).. We did the short track, Never done it before. Anyway it was touch and go with the weather as we have had unprecedented rainfalls, with floods, etc. It dried up around lunch time at got very hot straight after. This video is of the first session i did with R specs on.
I ended up getting the 2nd fastest time of the day to the turbo track mx5 infront of me in the video. His car is running - race brakes, slicks on 17" rims, big hp turbo built motor, etc. So it shows on a tight track my 70kw car can keep up with a 200kw car.

A lot of metal has been cut out from the centre back, so it might affect the front rear balance. Also has to be considered all the metal panels on the front have been deleted, so it might be close. I will see when i corner weight it. Also with the amount of downforce that can be generated with a diffuser and rear wing, it is possible to get the weight balance right.
