We can throw a bunch of extra bracing on it to help slow the inevitable cracking.

Yes the plan is to hack the ****** up and brace and reweld the ever living **** out of it.

End result should be a pretty sturdy and cheap tubular manifold. I am patiently searching for a good deal on a GT35ish sized turbo, but my GT3071 is doing well right now and it is extremely noticeable when it falls into it's efficiency happy spot of 15+psi. It hits pretty damn hard. Hopefully the tubular mani plus bigger exhaust diameter piping will allow for more airflow and better efficiencies over 17psi. The ebay mani will be the cheapest way to find out. The plan is to set up the fattest downpipe and exhaust possible at the same time as the ebay manifold.

bracing is generally not as good of an option as one would think without room for thermal expansion.... it can cause a crack.

this is why there are turbo cranes with end links.

Why not use a spring or two with the "crane" effect on it to hold some weight off the manifold. This is how I have the lower portion of my radiator held up to keep the top brackets from cracking from the weight.

The tubing is really ******* thin on these things, be careful not to burn through.

Externally, yes. Internally, you'll find a much bigger I.D.

AKA, much thinner material.

well, try it... see if you make power over a log.
when you do, contact someone to make you a nice manifold because you know this will fail.

This manifold is definately compromised in the area of the collector... so you would notice gains later on with a real manifold even over this, but especially over a begi cast turd.

Well I will see what it looks like when I get it.

Unless my downpipe falls off its slip joint this year again I may do nothing until fall. I actually just drove my car around for fun yesterday and it was awesome.

That said just maybe I will get a gt35r and slap it on this ebay bitch and make 600hp of **** you. If it lasts one minute it will be worth it.

Imagine that. This is why I've never understood the "always on jack stands" people.

You're spending so much time, money, and effort trying to see 400rwhp you forgot about enjoying the car.
