******* damn it.

You win but you don't get any snuggles because you are a hatersaurus.

It is actually a John Deere tractor turbo. My GF guessed out of the blue that it was both a tractor turbo and a John Deere turbo.

John Deere something or other. I posted this before I refreshed and saw the answer. Googling the part number on the box helped.

You should definitely remove the "mazda" and "miata" emblems from your car and stick some John Deere emblems on there.

Make your car legit s0n

Too bad it doesn't have Deere emblems on it.

I'm considering saying to hell with it and going with a manifold design like this little short runner jobbie here:

That is a HUGE leverage point for a 50 pound chunk of metal to hang off of without some kind of trussing.

What are you planning to set your redline at to make power with that beast?
You still planning to pound your valve seats flat pushing the VVT head to 8K+? is a 7.4K redline going to flow enough air to get this turbo into its efficiency range? Not trying to hate but a 99 head (+/-with cams) might be a better match if you want to rev it out and have more than a really small powerband.

I will have my redline where it is now at 8000 or oooh maybe say **** it and put redline at 8500. I have a nicely built FM head with all the goodies including upgraded springs. I will give FM a call and ask them about this camshaft resonance bullshit. Sounds like cams will "fix" it.

From fun squirrel turbo charts: http://www.squirrelpf.com/turbocalc/ It does look like my motor will flow enough at a reasonable rpm to be in the efficiency range. I will also not tune the car like a caveman, hence a shitload of meth everywhere in boost boost for improved spool.

So you're going to get rid of VVT or not?

No, I don't see why I should.

Well I'm pretty sure nobody makes a VVT cam. So you either rev it to ~7.3k or rev it higher and destroy your head.

its a thin wall manifold pictured with a slip fit connector.

in a situation like that you solid mount the turbo and the slip fit in the turbo manifold allows vibration and expansion room.

I haven't destroyed my head yet with 5000 miles of 8000RPM...

Also megacycle does make a VVT cam. They bought the integral blanks. They have a 266° / 263° cam

Today I put in a cxracing radiator in my car. I fit and didn't leak. Yayyy

Yesterday, I raced some random mkII MR2 a few times, a 60-120 pull. Closed course, off road, international waters etc... I don't know what was done to the MR2 other than exhaust and some gauges but 3rd was fairly even until around 7000RPM when I started to pull on him , then in 4th, my car started to walk away pretty quickly. Miata represent!

In other related news, I am sending my compressor cover back to cali tomorrow for free polishing from my ebay seller. I took my car to get aligned on Friday and they couldn't get less than 2.5* of camber at the passenger rear. Sadly, the upper a-arm is tweaked from an old collision with a guard rail. Ordered a fresh new replacement from finish line to put in next week. I'm going to go for pretty conservative settings which means 1.7*. Hopefully that will be decent all around for highway, autox funses, drag funses, and tire wear. Unfortunately, that means I definitely have to roll and pull my fenders a bit because they've been rubbing the MTs at 2.5*. I think I will do all four corners to accommodate future 15x9s.

I hate being stuck with one-two types of tire with a size that big..
