Awwwww man, I like where this is going. Can't wait to see what you put down at a drag strip. 9 seconds... I take it you're hitting up a 1/8th mile track?

if you hit 11's in the quarter (which should be entirely possible for your setup on slicks) I'll be very impressed

Naw the real numbers goal is 12 in the 1/4 @ 140mph. That would please me. Unless I get a real man's rear end I don't ever plan to launch like a boss when on a strip. 600hp had better do it for me on the street. Driving around today, 400hp is fun but still feels fairly casual I had a scotch and soda in one hand and a cigar in the other hand and the wheel in the other hand at 180mph today and felt totally relaxed

I have actually lost all my nut power around turns. At some point in time I think while dailying the fxt which is laden with all my tools, I became scared of turns and lost touch with the cornering capabilities and limits of my miata. I am not bullshitting so my plan is to go to some autox to get used to lateral Gs again.

Tonight I turned down the boost to 19psi which = 375hpish and I went to some super local car meet tonight. Unfortunately, I missed the entire subaru crowd.

After the meet I did a 5-120mph "race" vs some uh Firebird or Camero or Thunderbird or whatever the **** those late 90's early 2000's LS1 powered cars are. It had an open exhaust and was cammed and two of my tires were the size of one of it's. Starting slower than dick in first with no launch, it was about the same, then he pulled three or four lengths on me while I mangled the shifter into second gear.

I wasn't double clutching like I should.

After wrecking the gearbox into second, I reeled the camerobird in around 80mph and proceeded to stomp the **** out of his face and pass at a brisk trot. Dude did not stop so I could ask more about his car :(. His car was Teal so it was an awesome battle of the Teal.

I hope to have more color coordinated kill results to report soon.

Also, what is wrong with your transmission that you need to double clutch?

Sean mounted up my tires today. Here's a pic of them next to my 225/50/15 RS2s

Them bitches got grip! No wheelspin at all in first through fourth, and this was in the ******* rain. They actually have more grip than my RS2s in the front do--- I now push/understeer in a hard turn. I would not buy them for drifting. I look forward to seeing how much hp they will be able to successfully put down.

There are drawbacks though and to quote JayL, "the car handles like a cadillac". I started off at 25psi and it was wallowy and squishy as hell, and went up to 35psi which firmed it up a lot. Still though, the front is pretty firm and the back is squishfest. Ah well, can't have it all.

We also pinpointed the source of an oil leak down by my pan. Sadly my ******* oil pump is leaking at the block. I do not have the A/C bolt in the pump now, and hopefully putting the bolt in AND RTVing the **** out of the pump-block seam that I can reach will stop the leak. If it doesn't, I shall feel certain joy when I pull the engine and remove my ATI damper for the FOURTH TIME THIS YEAR.

Your RS-2s are bald. Bald tires don't grip well in the rain.

You HAVE to paint the compressor housing purple!

You are also coming close to 25k views on your fun thread.

I've been having oil leakage on my hotside for a few weeks.

As I mentioned above, I thought it was coming from the oil pump to block seal. I cleaned the hell out of what I could reach then RTV'd the ever living **** out of it. Then I put the AC condensor bolt back in. Looks like it's not leaking now.

BUT

I appear to have a much much larger leak. My oil drain hose has been dripping oil. I examined the hose and oopsy, the fitting at the turbo wasn't tightened down all the way. Assuming it was dripping at the fitting, I tightened the bastard while the turbo was on the car using my ol' screwdriver and hammer tapping on the nut trick. Unfortunately, the hose is still leaking and by leaking I mean dumping a quart every 80 miles :(

This means new oil drain hose. Sigh

Also... My new super awesome uber badass ebay manifold might not fit with my new turbo. I think that turbo hit block. Or subframe. Or both. It will also have to be hacked almost to the collector to accommodate a T4 flange.

In other news I have sent my Aquamist failsafe DDS3v8 junction "brain" board to jolly ole england for an autopsy because it is fucked up and doesn't work.

In other other news my forester now has better handling "feel" than my miata :( The MTs hook like they have claws in 1st-3rd but they are sooo floaty and bouncy. I am not sure what to do. I might wait until the 275/15/45 949racing-pushed tire comes out and buy those with another set of wheels. I can still turn and they have good grip but the feel is all fucked up.

I tend to find a lot of amusement in your threads. What's your plan for that GT30? Have you grenade'd it yet? :P
