Right, he pulled the Ecotec out because it sucked right?

What's he doing next?

You can ask him in the other thing, you know. :P He's had an interesting year.

He/We've already built him another car.

Wheels are out for delivery. Then straight into crunch time for TRACK DAY BRO on the 21st.

On the plate for the next few days:

1) Wash car and clean engine bay because it makes me itchy
2) 5x Bronze shifter bushing (thanks for the heads up Aidan)
3) V8R wilwood master cylinder brace
4) Flush hydraulics
5) mangle body to fit 15x10 245/40 setup
6) Oil change. It's been... about a year. 15w-50 Dominator and a Wix filter
7) Swap to the nicer trunklid now that i'm not running FM COT mounts anymore
8) Install 5mm spacers as needed (Thanks Marcello)
8.5) Hate life if this turns into "install ARP extended studs as needed."
9) cobble together a RAM mount system to hold phone for Harry's Lap Timer
9.5) Make sure GoPro is locked and loaded (and consider buying an external mic. Anyone have thoughts on this?)

The LongerDongers taking almost 3 months to arrive have really messed things up for me. Will be running 6ULs or some US-produced 3 piece wheels in the future.

Did you ever find a 10hz gps? If not, I've got 2x so I'd be happy to loan you one.

Also, stop being a bitch and post those rim and tire fitment pics

I didn't get my hands on a GPS. Not going to worry about it for the moment, got enough on the plate.

Pics of meat. This is going to take some work today with the roller, and i'm just going to remove the fender liners entirely. I think making them work would be a horrible exercise in frustration.

Hard to capture how bonkers the front looks. So much uncovered tire.

Replaced air filter. Exciting!

Installed V8R master cylinder brace. Also exciting and time consuming.

Got M-tuned rear brackets so i can order a Trackspeed Dynapro kit.

Why put the brackets in a small flat rate box for $6 when you can stick a box in a bigger box and charge $16? No packaging removed from box for picture. What you see is what i saw.

Cool.

Every single time I get something from Trackspeed or 949, it comes packaged like that. I think my Inconel studs and stage 8 hardware came in a 10x8x6 box.

This was Goodwin. Haven't had similar experiences with anyone else yet, but i try to not make small orders like this, either.

I'm sure they didn't use shipping as another profit generator (looking at you, FM), i'm sure this box DID cost $16 to ship halfway across the country, there just wasn't a need for it.

I'd rather have a vendor make a bit of profit with shipping and pack items correctly than receive items like that. Every time I've ordered FM stuff, they do a good job with packaging. Many other vendors need to seriously figure out how to ship stuff, yeah the prices may be fair, but the packaging can be abysmal.

BFW has the best of both worlds, fair shipping prices and he knows how to pack items efficiently and well protected.

But no website.

So... there goes that. :(

This was the worst of both worlds.

FM packaged my 36-2 timing wheel great, in a flat rate envelope clearly marked as costing 6.25. Guess who paid 16 bucks for shipping. This was AFTER calling and asking why shipping on a flat 6" part was $16. I was assured that my charge would be adjusted. Did not happen.

my new outlook on this stuff is: if I dont have to drive across the country and it gets to my house in good condition, then, ******* whatever ( throws oversize box in the fire).

Worst of both worlds was ordering from Summit. I ordered a single fitting that I needed quickly and I paid like $30 for 2 day shipping. Turns out, they shipped the fitting in a box big enough to hold about 6 engineering textbooks.

Yeah BFW needs a website...not sure why he hasn't just paid someone to set it up yet.

So I guess FM also botches shipping stuff from time to time, that would **** me off too.

These vendors should start selling **** on Amazon prime, it's so easy to spontaneously buy stuff from Amazon and the 2 day shipping is addictive. Waiting 4-5 days for items is now painful

I get lots of tiny things in HUGE boxes from Amazon. But in that scenario, it's just funny because it doesn't cost me extra money.

Also: once i ordered a 1lb bag of polyfill. IT came in a box... that was packaged with those air bag packet things. I lol'd.

The cost difference between a 12x8x4 box and a 4x4x4 box is a dollar or two at most. Small box is 1lb minimum, the larger is 2lb dimensional. In some markets those are actually the same cost to ship, since there's a base ground rate that no box can fall under (on my UPS acct, that rate is something like $7.70 right now). Half-sheet printer labels don't fit on 4x4x4 boxes, and small boxes are more likely to get lost or misplaced. Hence the minimum box size even for tiny stuff.

I don't put m-tuned brackets in 14x14x8 boxes, though
