i just dont think running without a blowoff valve is a good idea?

correct me if im wrong but wont the shock wave caused by the unused pressure be sent back through the turbo, slowing it down and increasing lag. will that pressure not damage bearings in the turbo??

if you have one why not just put it in? just my opinion lad

 

Turbo is getting hit in the face without bov at any speed, correct. Just slower speed does not cause high enough shock waves. At 6-8 psi your 2554 sized churbo will spool plenty to where bov will extend its life. At last as Rhys said if you have it why not install it.

The lag alone between shifting is plenty of reason for me to install a bov.

I personally have 2 bovs on mine that i switch out when i get bored/annoyed with how each sounds.

 

i have a forge splitter (yet to be tested i admit) that you can run either atmospheric or recirculating (or both at the same time). so if you get annoyed with the noise just pop in the blanking plug.. plus they are cheap (less that 200)..

I have bookmarked this thread in case I have to put a flame suit on when I start my conversion from SC to Turbo...Such restraint, such civility.....amazing stuff!

 

Pretty sure he's still using the FPR previously posted. They're known to be fairly safe on an otherwise stock setup, although a wideband can find issues with your fuel pump, regulator, injectors, etc, that aren't otherwise noticeable on a NA system.

I found my BOV to be much louder when I switched to MS. Something about getting rid of the AFM helps them actually work.

 

After being flamed on and warned. I haven't driven the car since the test drive.

One of the miata club of hawaii members will be coming over to tune my car. I installed the mspnp today, just waiting on the tune. Btw, I noticed in the mspnp package, it came with an extra harness. It's a whole harness with a circle terminal in the end. Looks like a ground. Should I plug it in and ground it? I'll post pictures if needed.
