I suspect it is due to people making more and more power and/or combining more power with more track time.

Nope, just time for a stronger transmission.

That was quite a bang in that video. Impressive, in a not-so-nice way, like admiring the size of a **** star's huge ***** right before he ***-rapes you.

Any more vids?

I'm kind of baffled here. If your transmission was going to give up the ghost, I would have expected it to happen during your 450+hp drag racing days.

heh. Yep, that's just what my 3rd gear popping out of the 5 speed was like. Not when dragging, just hitting a bump on a shift. I think it has to do with the clutch grabbing HARD just as things are starting to get in place.

Sorry for forgetting, what EMS are you running? My tune used to be all better-than-stock, but lately it's running kinda poorly. Then again, it's a 100% stock motor built out of used parts seeing 16 psi and 7,800 RPM for a year and running on cracked manifolds. Maybe it's just getting tired.

Was it due to the fact that I was going to pass you. I would give up a gear or two before I would let a car as ugly as mine pass. Or was it the 100HP less I am putting down.

Those sounds like fighting words

finally had a chance to watch the video on my computer, that looked like a lot of fun up until you busted out your gear.

My transmission was just trying to even things up a bit. Was nice to see you finally pass me.

Not much to critique really. Turn 2 is tough but I had people tell/show me like 3 different lines through that turn. I liked bob's the best. How fast were you through the chicane?

I was always somewhere in 3rd gear for the chicane. People kept hitting the tires and there was water just after it for most of the day. Just never felt comfortable trying to push it through there because I always felt like I was jerking the car around coming out of it regardless of the speed. I think if it was just cones I would have been more likely to go for it.

Cool turbo noises.

As always to become a faster driver:

Brake late
rotate on entry
power early as possible
Slow in, fast out

Really IMHO driving is something that comes natural. It's all about feeling the car and being comfortable at or over the limits.

Damm that sucks, 4th was the same gear that let go for me too. I was downshifting when it happened, and you were up shifting. Strange.
