I'm glad we're putting our fully programmable ecu's to use by not using them.
Is California 91 octane different than 91 in other parts of the country? Other than it being your highest available octane pump gas generally, I'm getting curious if you guys have a particularly shitty 91 because more often than not its referred to as 'California 91'.

In Wisconsin we can typically get 93 in most cities, but its like 10% ethanol. We do have lots of 91 no ethanol added, and E85 though. I live really close to an ethanol refinery actually.

Most people seem to be of the opinion that CA 91 is worse for performance than the 91 you get in most of the rest of the country, yes. I don't know the chemistry details as to why though.

Richard, that IGN map is fairly close to what I just ended up with on my coated 8.6:1 bottom end on CA91. Pull 3-4deg above 150kpa from those maps. They are too aggressive for 10:1.

Test drive successful, jet engine noises, no assplosions yet. After it cools down I'll check for leaks. Tomorrow I'll do some street tuning. Car sounds good with the Roadstersport midpipe and the Enthuza lightweight "muffler" in the back, but I worry it will be too loud at Laguna. I'll bring the Roadstersport muffler also just in case.

I was going to try to get the hood and hardtop painted by this weekend, but that's just too tight, I'd rather have that time for debugging. Dyno session is scheduled for Monday morning.

Hardtop is bolted on.

Don't hate, no time for paint. I'll fix all that. Jeffbucc, turn away. The thought you might see my car this way shames me.

Whoa, that's terribad.

We can swap hardtops while we're there if you want. maybe light blue would look better over your car than the green? ...

Doors need to be red and trunk white to complete the harlequin look and make it look truly atrocious :P

Looks much better than mine, but I kinda like passing $80k cars in something with peeling clearcoat. Keeps the p-car owners humbled.

Why aren't you using incorporate AFR?

Because noob? MS3 setting I presume?

Edit: I could update my firmware on the MS3. And I could update TunerStudio. But right now everything talks to everything else and everything is happy. So I am conflicted.

Since the car has been running all summer N/A on the rotrex dyno tune, I haven't worried about the tune at all until now. Didn't realize this was off, it's on now.

If it's on you need to make a new fuel table.

Right on. You can get pretty close to the proper VE by scaling load lines. Multiply the VE by TargetAFR/14.7, then add a few percent for margin. Or just know it will be pig rich in boost until autotune pulls it out.

You should probably start out by explaining what things are before nonchalantly suggesting that people make drastic changes to it parts of their tune.

Also no need to do any sort of margin. It's an equation. You can come up with the exact same table as you started with by doing some math. No need to guess.
