Machine shop at Napa Auto Parts had a better m10x1.5 die than I did, and chased it for me free of charge.

Exhaust is on and car was started this evening.

Remaining
Cabin reassembly
Hood
Hitch wiring
Axle nut tightening

Richard, do it. We can align it Wednesday night after 6pm maybe. Engine's dyno tuned, what's holding you back?

He's been doing a lot of track days as instructor only to get back in the mind set.

I am signed up for Thursday, and signed up for an alignment already on Wednesday 1pm, unless Martin didn't actually put me on the job list.

Car is assembled and was on the ground, briefly, but came right back up to properly torque axle nuts.

So it's sitting on the small jackstands until after we get back from dinner. Then I'll use a child to hold the brakes and torque everything, and go around the block.

Set car on ground. Put in gear. Torque axle nuts.

No small child sacrifices required

NOPE. Set it on the ground even once and you risk blowing out front or rear wheel bearings if they're not torqued above ~100ft/lbs. This is directly from the mouth of Eddie.

Oh. I can usually get that much with the e-brake, or a couple chuga chugas. Makes sense tho.

Fronts are torqued to 140 per FSM. Rears are torqued to "allmyft/lbs" per Eddie. They should be 250ish.

Test drive this morning ended about a quarter mile. From the house.

First problem: abs is no longer reading the brake switch. It was yesterday. Sad.

Second problem, brakes were mushy and weak.

Third problem, leaving a light in first, let out the clutch and BANG there was no more drive. No rattling or grinding noises. Clutch pedal felt fine. Shifter shifted normally. Fortunately I was able to turn right and immediately park at the curb next to a Starbucks. At least I got coffee. I've walked back to the house with the laptop, and am going to go get the tools out of the car with the van.

When you say bang, did something go bang? Or did you just suddenly have no more drive.
