I heard about the accident but had no idea it was you and your build, though Ryan tried to explain to me who it was. Perhaps a subframe and some V8R control arms might make it mostly right.

Bryan feels super bad about the whole thing. We dropped his car off at his house late last night.
I was pretty bummed to hear about it. I had seen your car here and there the whole weekend, just didn't get a chance to come and say hi. We were fighting mechanical issues a lot of the time.

I was hoping to get everyone from mt.net together for a pic but this kinda derailed it. I did get to bludgeon the dragon with my Sequioa, I'll get the video on here tonight. It is hilarious. I actually kept up with a miata group lol, they must have been on a Sunday stroll because that should've happened. 149 photos got a pic of me tucking tire going around a corner, I've never seen a sequoia do that.

Big thanks to sixshooter for the decals, this literally made my day. I feel part of the community now
Here are some sweet pics from Killboy, I don't remember everyone's names I was with but we had a blast. Going up the dragon it was dry and we were going pretty quick, then it started raining on us. That was pretty scary, thankfully my turbo doesn't spool fast.
I've been kinda down about the whole car thing, I'm still on the fence about swapping bodies. Does anyone have experience with extensive frame damage? The big thing is I want a quiet ride, can I just throw frame guards on it and expect it to be good? I hate all the little rattles and such. I'm heavily considering doing a full v8 roadster suspension....

Don't just about all these cars have some sort of rattles? I've never been in one that hasn't rattled a little bit. If you can find where the rattles are coming from, you can always use some sound deadening in those regions. Or just turn the volume up!
Has insurance gotten back to you?
I think swapping everything over to a new frame will be a ton of work, depending on what all you're trying to sort out. Depending on the frame damage, you may be able to have it aligned again, but that really depends on what the damage was and if the offending parts can be swapped easily or pulled back into place. And it depends on what insurance is going to give you slash what you'd buy it back for.

Yeah I'm use to the rattle fixes. Hell my turbo is so loud I could just step on it. I think psyber_0ptix can attest to that.
I have enough money to do a swap but man its a pain in the but. I've done several at this point and I dread it. I will nickle and dime myself into more debit if I do it. Those "while you're there" sort of things really get me.
I forgot I never posted the damage, the rails are the only things I question fixing. The frame damage was done by the tow truck.

I suspect that if you hammer out those frame rails and add one of the reinforcement kits out there (https://www.flyinmiata.com/fm-frame-...ement-kit.html) it'll be fine.

If the car gets a thumbs up for frame alignment, then those frame rails should be all you need. You'll gain more chassis stiffness in the process as well.
I'd definitely have the frame alignment checked out by a reputable shop first.
Is the towing company taking any responsibility or does their rider basically render them immune?
Also, don't abandon your car if this isn't a huge hit. It's already got a salvage title right? Just ******* send it bro.
(Sorry, had to...)

Weld in square stock in place of the crushed frame rails. I am still skeptical of the actual stiffening offered by "frame rail" covers even though I run them myself.

The difference in my car when i installed the reinforcements was not subtle. After i was done, it felt stiffer WITHOUT the factory hardtop bolted on than it did before without reinforcements and top bolted on.
Plus they make dandy jack points without crushing the garbage Miata pinch welds.

Rover's frame rails are 10x uglier than that. Too many dropped wheels and laying the frame rail flat on kerbs over the years. Hammer them in and stick a set of frame rail braces on there. They aren't structural.

Glad to see insurance took care of you, and good luck on the rebuild. Hopefully we'll meet next year at MATG under better circumstances! I'm planning to buy mine back and rebuild as well. Laser Blues are almost impossible to replace (not to get all M.net in here, but unless you're willing to repaint, they really are), and I have too much time invested to just move on.
